I read somewhere that a number of single deck buses have been acquired from Uno in Hertfordshire. Possibly these will operate the service

Oh and noticed SYPTE are saying the 24 has been covered by Stagecoach, but it's not until you look at the timetable that Denby Dale passengers can see it's no longer going there. Again not good. and on Wednesday the Stagecoach Optare vehicles running on the 24 route were displaying Denby Dale!

Just out of interest, What type of vehicles do Globe operate?. I was under the assumption they just ran coaches and school buses. What vehicles will be used to operate the much missed and lamented Tates services?.[/quote Two Tates Solo's this morning see spotted thread for details

You would perhaps expect that on their 'first' day of operation that Tates v2 would be desperate to make a good impression.
However when I popped into the bus station at lunchtime I saw the 96 arrive at 12.06 - disembark the passengers and then disappear off. It was due to leave stand 4 at 12.35, but the bus still hadn't returned by 12.40. At 12.43 the bus rolls in, complete with a sheet of A4 in the window as the destination blind was only displaying the number. It was the same bus that came in 12.06 (optare solo - YJ08 XDH) so presumably had been back to the depot to get a sign printed off! I did notice that the registered address on the side was Globe Coaches Ltd and it wasn't the depot but the Eldon Street office.
It seems the ONLY thing that has changed is the company name, same old shoddy service.

Looks to me that that entire timetable could be run with 2 buses all day.
That only leaves their school services, which won't be known until next week. They used to have 5 buses worth of work in West Yorks. TSY says they retain 2 Penistone school services.
Whether the 3 hybrid double decks will continue to be used will also be interesting.

The 2 white ones appeared to be parked up awaiting end of the day at GSAL at lunchtime yesterday.

Took myself along with my camera to take pics of the 0958 and 1058 arrival at Wakefield bus station. Both buses arrived with 0 passengers on board and both left with 0 passengers on board. I am wondering how long this service will last

The first 96 & 97 both had a good load on this morning although would probably be nearly empty after Kettlethorpe School/ASDA & most looked like schoolkids
Might have a chance of more passengers if timetables were on Metro website

It's so annoying where these once well respected names close down and get taken over and end up being used by less respected operators.
The likes of Stanley Gath and Eddie Brown, now being used as names on cheap King Long coaches by dodgy operators.

Anyone who allows their company to get involved with King Long or Island Fortitude loses the right to be "well respected". Everyone has known that they are dodgy as hell for years :-(

King Long products maybe cheaper, but I think tarnishing everyone with the same brush who have ever bought from KLUK is very harsh on them.

Tates acquired many single-deckers from other operators such as Bus Eireann, Go-Ahead London and even Stagecoach. In 2014 I saw a Tates Dart with Stagecoach moquette.
Tates may have wanted to sell their remaining operation and goodwill to Stagecoach or Arriva but such a deal been a non-starter as the CMA is compelled to discourage dominant operators in any 1 area. Of course, as independents collapse, this will happen anyway.

The possibility is that Ensignbus have either 1) brought the buses from the liquidators and are now offering them for sale 2) selling vehicles on behalf of the liquidators Unless someone knows better
