Why are Transdev not adhering to Metro's service change dates? First it was the 762 now the 696/7 and 760

Do we know what route change is happening to the 760? I'd guess it's a 36-style peak time only diversion to help with some of the reliability issues.

I'm sure most of the registrations you see listed as "amend route" never materialise. I bet someone just ticks the wrong box when inputting the data.
I'm guessing this is when the 760 gains some ex 36 buses, same day as the Cityzap starts.

Seems as though Alex has just looked on a map and thought 'ooh big road, no traffic problems then, must be a quick way to Leeds, can't check it out however as too busy having my selfie taken with a bus', sorry Alex but you've so clearly NOT done your homework and for this totally avoidable thingy up you deserve a bit of grief!

What does not add up is the morning "fast" 36s run via Moortown Corner but the evening ones do not. IME its the top end of Scott Hall Road that is the real gridlock and running the evening fasts via Moortown Corner might be better.

That's strange. They just put in to change the timetable and now they're cancelling it? Will they be introducing a new service to replace it?

That date is the start of the summer timetable. Looks like they are registering them in parts rather than a full service.
Presumably this means we will end up with a silly "843 York connecting to Malton and Scarborough" destination rather than "843 Scarborough"

They are taking the coastliner route off the tacho system so they've split the routes into sections like EYMS do on various routes and stagecoach do on X62

With the introduction of CityZap, could it be that most coastliner services start in York to go to Brid, Whitby etc... Meaning none or very few coastliner buses go all the way from Leeds Bus Station?
Example: Leeds - Bridlington: Get the CityZap from Leeds to York then get the connecting 845 to Bridlington?

Ok, will it use the same stand as the Coastliners in Leeds BS? That may get a little crowded!

The destination boards say "Harrogate then Leeds" rather than "Harrogate connecting for Leeds", which probably wouldn't be sufficient to placate the eurocrats if it was a split registration.

Example: Leeds - Bridlington: Get the CityZap from Leeds to York then get the connecting 845 to Bridlington? No, that won't happen. There is clearly demand for at least a half-hourly service between York, Tadcaster, Seacroft and Leeds, and there is evident demand for through buses from Leeds, Seacroft and Tadcaster to the coast ... so Coastliner will continue to run through buses between Leeds and the coast, albeit by split registration. CityZap is an additional service that is aimed at more time-sensitive passengers travelling between Leeds and York, to try to lure them away from the train.

Of it starts from Leeds bus station and/or it takes any longer than 40 mins and is less frequent than every 20 mins, at coastliners current prices, I doubt anyone will be lured from the train!

Of it starts from Leeds bus station and/or it takes any longer than 40 mins and is less frequent than every 20 mins, at coastliners current prices, I doubt anyone will be lured from the train! Depending on where in Leeds you need to be, the bus station might be more convenient for you than the railway station! If you're wanting the Victoria or Kirkgate districts then the bus station is closer; if you're wanting LGI, the university or Merrion area then there isn't much in it. If you're getting a bus into Leeds from the suburbs and changing, the bus station may be a better bet. Don't rule it out just because it doesn't serve the railway station! At the moment, fares are: Single Train: Anytime £13.90, Off-peak £13.00 Bus: Anytime £6.30 ReturnTrain: Anytime £16.80, Off-peak £13.10 Bus: Anytime £8.00 WeeklyTrain: £52.30 Bus: £31.30 There's a substantial saving to be made if you're travelling by bus, and if your journey doesn't start and finish at the railway station in either city (eg Stonebow to Corn Exchange) then the bus taking you closer than the train does could easily negate the slightly longer running times and offset the less frequent service.
