Transdev have announced that their partnership bids with Harrogate and Leeds Councils for some of the Clean Bus Technology Fund has been successful and that new buses will be introduced for the 1 and 770/771 services. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-35217026

It doesn't say new buses, just an upgrade to the engines.

Still better than keeping existing buses going with no modifications. They've done this for buses in London that are 10 years old to reduce carbon emissions. It's still a form of improvement.

Probably ties in with the 662 Shuttle like refurb that NYCC referred to in a document last year. Although difficult to see how the emissions would be lower than the pair of electric solos which were in use on a 1A and 1C last Saturday morning, another 1C was a Versa and only the 1B of the workings I saw was the normally booked vehicle. As for "the other operator" a T reg saloon with a very dim display had a reasonably full load nearing Harrogate while the West Yorks livered Omnicity was a visually devoid of passengers as it headed west out of Knaresborough.
