Arriva Dewsbury 126/7 branded MAX Gemini 1512 on 281/2, when I saw it in Dewsbury it was closely followed by ALX400 662.
Parked up in Heckmondwike was 653 following its short visit to Selby

CT Plus were using Solo X168XWR on the Dewsbury Free Town Bus alongside their Streetlite, no signs of their MPD although I did see that one earlier in the week

Could i have the honour of the "strangest" sighting of the day?, Had to do a massive double take, when at approx 2.30 this aft on the A644 heading towards Cooper Bridge, was Arriva Cymru Rhyl based open top DLA T110 GGO. It's at Heckmondwike Depot. Haven't got a clue why. But it did do a circuit or two of the Heckmondwike Sight Seeing route. Here for AY winning bus operator of the year.

Tiger 652 having a go on the Airport 737 service, while Flying Tiger Scania 784 was on Leeds Student service 29.
First Gemini 37709 on 72. I couldn't see but is it policy to also have a host on the Gemini or are they one manned?

They might have even been using a Gemini because there was no host available (eg. sickness or short of staff). Either that or lack of available ftr's.

One was parked up near British Gas near Armley Gyratory out of service about 1ish while 3 FTR's followed each other to Bradford at the same time..

Seriously, how/why did this happen? What exactly swung the win for them? Was it down to a choice of them or SGI for the judging panel?

Sunday 72s are all one person operated Geminis to save on payroll costs. Kind of diminishes the luxury Hyperlink brand they were trying to convince us of, wouldn't you say? To be honest Geminis seem to work at least a couple of boards every day of the week now, based on observation. I'm not sure if Geminis on the 72 even qualify as an unusual sighting/misallocation any more. I don't know if that is to do with host/conductor staffing or the continuing unreliability of the Streetcars. (Im guessing the former; out of 20+ Streetcars there should be availability to run a full complement in service if there was the appetite to fix them up properly. They may as well give up on them, York and Swansea already have)

Looking back I remember that the MPD was in service late Tuesday afternoon, so must have failed later that day or on Wednesday or Thursday.

I had no idea either until I saw it, if the usual judging rules apply when there is only one entry in a class the judges can always awarded the most appropriate award they don't have to award first place because there is no other competition

I know this doesn't really belong in this thread but it follows the earlier messages on the topic. The shortlist actually comprised of: Bus Operator of the Year 1. Arriva North West & Wales - Arriva Merseyside 2. Arriva Yorkshire 3. Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Company - Driving our Community 4. Metrobus: Our Operation 5. First Glasgow - First Glasgow 6. National Express West Midlands 7. Plymouth Citybus - Citybus celebrates a year of success 8. Reading Buses Brief description of the category: Bus Operator of the Year: This Award is open to all UK and Ireland bus operators. Entries for this Award should outline the range of initiatives that the operator has been involved in to improve services and facilities together with results that have been achieved. Figures on performance, reliability, passenger growth and customer satisfaction would be helpful if included in the submission.

Is there anybody else out there, who like me, find it quite amusing that AY win the title, and then borrow a bus off one of their opposition!!!
