Wonder what the livery for "Arrons Travel" is going to be? A GOLD one would be nice and different. Haste leasing company livery?

I think it would be better if the finer detail of the charade that is SGI was kept in that one thread and not spread across the whole forum. Leave the other threads for discussing proper bus companies.

I think we need some sort of introduction on here as this comes up very often! The registration details are rarely updated to reflect the changes to services - so the 496/497 will be the service numbers used when PB0000582/22 was first registered in April 2002.

Details of the review to services 435 and 436 have now been concluded with changes to take place on 19 July. Times will change with evening and Sunday journeys reduced to two-hourly (all journeys as 435). All 435 journeys will now run via Shepley (Marsh Lane and Lane Head Road) to provide an hourly service. Some 435 weekday journeys will be re-numbered 437 and operate via Church Lane in Clayton West, as well the 436 Monday-Saturday daytime service. Some requests from passengers haven't been implemented due to costs, which are more frequent service through Skelmanthorpe or Kitchenroyd (A636) and services calling at Denby Dale Interchange. Yorkshire Tiger will continue to operate the service, with real-time information required within 6 months of these changes. Not sure what will happen to buses when they arrive at Wakefield, as some journeys arrive into Wakefield after some buses leave Wakefield for Holmfirth. www.wymetro.com/uploadedFiles/WYMetro/Content/consultation/busreview/Timetable.pdfwww.wymetro.com/435-436-review/

Very strange timetable. The Metro notes comment how other improvements couldn't be made as it would increase the PVR, but then the timetable has done that very same thing and now seems to have 3 buses during the day on weekdays.

Three buses are already used on most days, I think it is a drivers hours issues which sees a bus (Solo) appear round lunch time while the service bus is either parked at Wakefield or returns to Waterloo only to return later It was a school run issue that was the reason that the peak bus re-appeared much earlier than the timetable would otherwise indicate to provide the bus to allow for the extended peak running times. To get the right sized buses on the right sized runs (when the service was being covered by a Solo, an SB120 & an SB200) there was a need to move the buses around their workings to get the SB200 in the right place so the Solo was effectively sent out early to release the SB200 which could then be dropped in on the right journey for the afternoon school run. Ref: the over lapping running times - when is the 231/232 in/out of Wakefield now, it was always a hope that I could integrate it into the 231/232 cycle but it never worked on the original timetables, not sure if the change has improved that. The other consideration is that I presume now Yorkshire Tiger are controlled by Arriva Yorkshire that their drivers would be allowed access to the Arriva canteen in Wakefield Bus Station which would make taking breaks in Wakefield a more acceptable option for the schedules.

The 231/2 times on the current timetable are tight and it would be possible to might these interwork with an easing of the 231/2 time except for the lowbridge at Thornes on the A636. It would careful management of any decker workings on 231/2 to ensure they didn't stray on the 435/6/7. I understand the canteen in Wakefield is OK

That is the correct allocation as the double decks inter work with schools. There was never the suggestion that all workings on the 231/232 were supposed to be double decks. I'm guessing when the new timetable for the231/232 comes out it might all become clear. This service is quite tight and hasn't had any adjustments made since YT took over, unlike the 80s etc which had an extra bus added to the cycle.

There is one board on the 231/2 on a Monday which is a decker and has been even before YT took over. Usually covers the peak in the evening(1620 231 from Huddersfield and 1740 232 from Wakefield). 905 is a regular on this slot but have also seen 897/8 covering it too.

going back to good old Yorkshire Traction there were days when all the buses would be deckers When Centrebus/HBC took over the K-YCL Olympians and another decker(Usually the ELC Vyking/Volvo B7TL 925) were regulars on 231/2. Ever since they got transferred away there hasn't really been a full decker allocation since.
