A man with a radar gun in Wakefield Bus Station, he appeared to be checking the speed of buses entering the bus station.
Given the date I do wonder...................

AY 1483(?) let herself down today with screechy sounding brakes or something wrong with the suspension, and a UID 126/127 Gemini deputising for it.

Looks like 1479 is still at Belle Isle because the other 2 on 126/7 earlier were 1525 and 110 branded 1514.

I was on 1483 this afternoon and it felt like the offside rear wheel turned with a revolution and a bit as the bus rolled along and the emergency door had an irritating rattle about it. 281/2/3 branded 1493 was on the 212 at16:55 today. As we waited to depart I caught sight of a Dennis Dart/Plaxton Pointer painted white with lime green skirt leaving the bus station. Anybody got a clue about it?

A man with a radar gun in Wakefield Bus Station, he appeared to be checking the speed of buses entering the bus station. Is that to go with the fixed speed camera in Leeds BS The guy was standing close to where there had been a fixed camera, until a bus reversed into it. He was wearing an unbranded hi-viz jacket, I saw him speaking to some drivers in a "friendly" manner. He was also holding a paper note pad and appeared to be listing the buses maybe, only saw the one person involved, I thought they hunted in packs....... He appeared to be checking the speeds on entry to the bus station, the odds are stacked against most drivers being able to be speeding on entry, all those entering from the right turn will have made a 120 degree turn round the mini roundabout and there is a better than 50/50 chance that the others will have been stopped by the pelican crossing between the Market and Trinity Walk It was the first of April after all, In the past I have seen lost coach drivers use the bus station to get to the coach point..................

Gemini 1548 limped into Swallow Street, Heckmondwike on the 229 this afternoon and was replaced by Enviro 1904. It must have been half an hour late as another Gemini on the 229 soared past it up Healey Lane, Batley.

Could the above have anything to do with the lack of SGI buses this morning..... No most likely Metro checking speeds of buses round the bus stations. Happens quite a lot, especially in BFD

Happens quite a lot, especially in BFD Wakefield bus station owned by Arriva, not Metro, so it would be one of our own staff operating the speed gun, in place of the missing camera, that's yet to be replaced

However, he did appear to know a lot of the drivers and it all seemed rather pleasant given the nature of the work..............
