Well done www.buseireann.i- I would give you a sticker if I still had any! An interesting new service - thought they may have numbered it 19 or 20 reviving memories of the old Barnsley - Manchester route run jointly by Yorkshire Traction and North Western in the 60s. Cheers, I suspect it'll be a walkers bus promoting walks on the Pennine Way a bit like the 906 does, but with funding by the Peak National Park. The number used does link with service numbers used in the Uppermill area (350 353 354) and I'm wondering if tfgm are possibly funding it either in part or full as well. Can't see it being a commercial venture, particularly as the operator is an unheard of small operator.

Oddly the new timetable for the little buses/big in Wakefield already has a June end date so it must have been planned to make some sort of change then before the new routes even started? Plus it's too soon to make changes based on operational experience.
Seems a bit strange, is a new road opening or a road closing or something

Apart from the excellent views and the shops, pubs etc in Holmfirth and Uppermill(nothing much in Greenfield-sorry) the only civilisation it passes after leaving Parkhead(Holmfirth) are the Ford Inn and The Huntsman pubs(both serve good beer and food). Whilst I am not sure of the exact routing I would hope that it would double run via Dovestones reservior on the Greenfield side of the Pennines. As for walkers using I doubt it as there are plenty of places to park along that route. Perhaps a circular route via the 184 to Marsden the over the hills to Meltham and back to Holmfirth would have been a better idea but before I am hauled over the coals it is not me that is running the route and I hope that S Pennine Community Transport get the support from passengers they deserve for running thismservice

Here is a bit of a teaser for those who like a challenge - a while since I have been able to be ahead! New route starting in the Kirklees area from May 31st:- Will run 3 journeys on Saturdays only and will start in West Yorkshire but terminate in another county. Operated by a brand new company to stage work, Over to you........................... Thought at first it may have been the 951, but looking at N&Ps, Tates are revising the timetable, so they look to be operating it again this year. Also noticed that Ladies Only Travel have had their licence revoked from 24th May, but subject to financial standing being produced, then a warning will be given. I've had information that they are not getting their licence revoked, but have bought a new depot at Brighouse (Near the car auctions) and are transferring their work onto another licence.

I find this interesting as there is currently already a 653 service from Otley to Bradford via Guiseley, so be interesting see what happens. it looks to me as though it has been registered as "653,(X53)" since they started running the route back in 2009, so I think anyone looking for major changes is probably getting their hopes up too high. after all, it is just "amend timetable", not "amend route and timetable". According to NYCC its a additional 0910 Otley-Harrogate service

I am more than happy to support any operator who is willing to try a new route and I wish them luck. However the timing point at Binn Green is a very long walk to a level and decent access to Dovestones Nature Reserve. Also who would want to have a day out on the other side of the Pennines from Yorkshire in the summertime, given that sunset is around 2100, if the last bus is back in Holmfirth at 1500. I think that the only travellers are likely to be OAP's on a round trip and not fare paying passengers. I hope not but I can't see this route lasting to long.
