PB0001748/110 - KEIGHLEY & DISTRICT TRAVEL LTD, PROSPECT PARK, BROUGHTON WAY, STARBECK, HARROGATE, HG2 7NY Registration Accepted by SN Starting Point: Keighley Bus Station Finish Point: Keighley Asda Store Via: Service Number: 718 Service Type: Normal Stopping Effective Date: 27-APR-2015 Other Details: Monday to Saturday Every 20 minutes off peak Timetable at www.keighleybus.co.uk/cmsUploads/route/files/718TT%20April%202015%20Web-1.pdfMuch reduced operating hours as well as the reduced frequency from the 719. Quite an odd route - do Metro fund any other routes that only serve 3 stops (two of them at ASDA in 1 direction)?

More to the point, given that the stop at Asda on Bradford Road is served by 6x662's and 2x760's per hour, is there any need for a 'shuttle' service, other than to make use of Metro's bus shelter on Bingley St?

Can't understand why they've suddenly gone for this 1 min turnaround at Halifax recently when they had 10-15 mins previously. It's almost like someone made a mistake when drawing up the timetable and nobody has noticed. A possible theory, a one minute turnaround would result in the bus being straight in and out, no need to park up and kill the engine. Upside less chance the bus would not restart. Halifax is not an Arriva Centre so no fitter within however many minutes away. Move the recover time to those parts of the route i.e Cleckheaton or Heckmondwike (I know the 255 doesn't go via Heckmondwike) where resource and facilities should be more readily available for a sick bus.

It was said the 719 was being cut back due to the end of Asda funding, so maybe they have decided to give limited funding instead of none. The subsidised by Metro line might be wrong, it would seem a bit far fetched?

Possibly subsidised by ASDA, I think the original extension was funded by them.

255 times will be amended, as we don't need 11 minutes to get from Cleckheaton Bus Station to Whitcliffe Mount School, 6 minutes in fine, only the 1438 out of Cleckheaton needs that 11 minutes, cos it waits for the kids, plus, there's a morning 255 that starts at Wyke 0625 arrives at Cleck 0640, and departs 0648, and then gets 6 minutes to Birkenshaw Bar. It turns out, the revised times on the 255, are only the early morning one, that only got 6 minutes to get from Cleckheaton to Birkenshaw, this will now get it's usual 11minutes. The service will still get 11 minutes from Cleckheaton to Whitcliffe, and still a 1 minute turnaround at Halifax. And..........they've still got it wrong!!!!! We, told them after the January changes, that we needed to reduce the 0648 departure by 5 minutes, to put it onto the time to Birkenshaw, what they've done is have it arrive in Cleckheaton at 0640 & depart at 0643, YIPPEE!!!, ........BUT..........still given it 6 minutes to get to Birkenshaw, and moved all the times back by 5 minutes!!!!!!!! Hopefully, by July, they MAY get it right, or, are we piloting the Starship Enterprise? ??

Some April changes not originally posted by Metro now listed in the May/June Changing Times booklet: *29 (Sheffield Community Transport/TM Travel) - Service taken over by TM Travel with Sunday service running between Sheffield and Penistone only. *407 (Stevensons Travel) - New service running between Pontefract and Darrington West Park, running two off-peak journeys in each direction (0935 & 1135 to Pontefract, 1115 & 1315 from Pontefract) *577/579 (Yorkshire Tiger) - In the Willow Field area services now operate to/from Rochdale Road via Woodlands Drive, Willowfield Road and Willowfield Drive and not the full length of Willowfield Road. This is due to new buses introduced on the route ‘grounding’ at the junction of Rochdale Road and Willowfield Road. *718 (Transdev Keighley) - New service running between Keighley and Asda, replacing service 719. www.wymetro.com/uploadedFiles/WYMetro/Content/travelnews/ServiceChanges/PTC_May_infoleaflet.pdf

Clearly took some time for the news to reach Wellington Street!

Even then it's still incorrect, as Evenings also finish at Penistone (making the service Penistone - Sheffield at all times) Upper Denby now is cut off Evenings & Sunday's from everywhere.
