I expect the delivery of new buses at a moments notice was done for dramatic effect as well. Although why the boss was looking at an Enviro 400 and then he bought 5 E200s was a bit odd. Interesting how the controller doubles up as a driver at peak school time as well. Very rare to see operators with staff who can multitask A lot of the smaller operator use fitters who can also drive to cover the school runs in the morning and afternoon and fit it in around their usual maintenance tasks. Equally there are divers who do the same and help out back in the garage doing the routine maintenance tasks or making a second man when necessary. This has been going on for years back to the days of the Doncaster Independents back into the 1960's

Boss howard does driving and maintenance as does another driver and mechanic richard drives on school contracts and daytrips. Not that rare then let alone very rare!

Not that rare then let alone very rare! Well which large operators have engineers/drivers doubling up apart from EYMS? I thought that the EYMS person was a controller, in which many at the smaller depots, if not at the larger ones as well

I'd like to know why the office workers wear their hi-viz vests in the office. Now the bit showing the fitters having a tea-break could have been filmed totally separately to the time of the incident and then slotted in for dramatic effect. Cab cameras? And I thought a cameraman sat in the cab corner focusing on the driver! The office workers have they hi-viz vests on in case they're needed on the shop floor which can happen regular. Look at Arriva's inspectors in Dewsbury bus station they wear theirs all the time and they even pitch in to sort ptoblems with the fleet out prior to sending for the engineers. The same happens in Huddersfield too. It is normal, for Health & Safety concerns, that it is a requirement to wear Hi-Viz when moving around the yard or other vehicle manoeuvring areas (such as parking areas in the back of bus stations) away from marked pedestrian walkways. It is common for operations staff, who will often have to go out into that area to talk to drivers or check on & move vehicles, to leave their Hi-Viz on to save having to keep pulling it on & off.

The relationship between staff and management at Scarborough didn't look great with that office partition fiasco. No wonder they are known as the militant depot.
Not sure what all that business with the ticket check ending up with racism was all about. Seemed over the top.

As with the Eddie Stobart programmes I wonder how much is stage managed by the tv production crews. Was that ticket check on a 128 service or was it a bunch if actors, did the student really lose his pass/wallet, why does it happen on the bus that the cameras are on.

Just caught up with the last episode, which explains why I didn't see the seafront supervisor bloke when I went to Scarborough a few weeks ago.
Can anyone explain the Hull Fair services, as rather than a shuttle, they seem to run normal services, just with an F suffix.

Some of the routes are Hull Fair specials, such as the 65F, but I think some services are existing routes, such as the 56/7 from Longhill, extended to the fair site on increased frequencies. There are also plenty of services that pass the fair site as part of their normal route
