Just seen 30813 ( Halifax ) on a 505 working through Thornton.Does anyone know the origin of this route as it seems an unusual journey to make. Also 30914 on a 622 in Bradford centre. Regards Gary The 505 is a Mon-Fri morning and afternoon service between Halifax-Four Lane Ends, during term time the bus on this duty works a school service into the Bradford area then returns to Halifax as the 505, vice versa in the afternoon, this service came about as first wanted to reduce dead mileage when the bus was running NIS after the morning/ before the afternoon school runs

The school service in the Bradford area, B46 is no longer run by First, so rather than reducing dead mileage it is now causing dead mileage!

Would it not then make sense to transfer the 505 to Bradford and add some additional 576 journeys into the timetable, to get the bus out & back from Bradford.

Arriva 57 on 202/3, 1470 on 283, 1484 on 212, plus an Enviro200 on 282.
Now here is a question: did the 202/3 have ANY Darwen Olympuses running on the routes yesterday, or were they all Geminis?

I got told it's on a de-minimis tender now because if they was to axe it, people would be upset

Yes I believe First asked for a bit more money to run it now it isn't linked to the B46 anymore, and Metro obliged.

I've noticed a few MPDs appearing on the 410 and possibly the 189 over the past couple of days. At lunchtime today saw one departing from the stop where Crossways Garage is on Pontefract Road heading towards Oulton roundabout with passengers on as well as one earlier in the day nearby on the same stretch of road, also last night the 21.54 from Crossways to Leeds was an MPD, this is usually a VDL or Tempo. Must have been cramped at the Royal Mail stop as this is where a full size bus is needed!
