I remember on one Saturday a while ago there were two Hybrids on 51/52, one on 42 and another on the 10 (Temple Newsham) on the same day. Anyway, this isn't 39231 but 39227 on 42 on an earlier occasion. It does make sense for the depot to allocate them to those routes, there is some logic. the 51 and 55 and 42 were all operated by Cherry Row, which a lot of the 7 drivers would of known when they transferred from Bramley to Hunslet. When this happened lot of regular 71 drivers started driving the 7 series! Many of whom I recognised! So I'm guessing they trained a selected few. I do also have photo's of Hybrids on non hybrid route. My avatar on here << is a Hybrid on the 28, and here is a link to that 51/52 I took a few months ago. www.flickr.com/photos/86576420@N07/9182784230/in/photolist-ee7BeT-eZsfjY-eZsaQ3Also, I have a very very rare photo of one of our Royales on the 64 last year! 42 was Kirkstall Road, as was 55 I believe 51 was Bramley.

WOW!!! Hybrids are starying again! Did you get a photo mate? The 10 had 39226 on it a week last Saturday. Saw it parked on Infirmary Street around mid-day. Wow!! I did see a 7 driver driving the 10 before, but to be fair, I think everyone knows the number 10 route! LOL

During the time Hunslet Park, Bramley and Cherry Row were open. It was the 18 18A 35 37 42 45 47 51 51A (or 55) 56 64 64A 71 98 99 X35 and X98 I believe. Knowing this as I many had guided 08 plates on the 42 and 51. Then when Cherry Row Closed the following happened Routes 37 51 51A 98 99 X99 were transferred to Hunslet Park The others were transferred to Bramley Then the 42 was transferred to Hunslet Park later that month. Then the 37 was withdrawn and replaced by the 5, run by Bramley Then the 7 series were numbered (May 2011) and the 98 99 X98 were transferred to Bramley in August of 2011. Then in 2012 the Hybrids, along with their routes were transferred to Hunslet to make room for the 72.

Most drivers know most routes due to the constant overtime requirement.. Hybrids will be put on other routes as and when needed. Do you think HP has retained all their drivers that they had allocated to the 42/51 for 6 years?

Penfold Must watch out for 217's return to service, it should have a good engine in it once completed then, hopefully re-built to the correct spec. Will that be a first? Are these apprentices at Belle Isle any good with Leyland TL11's or Gardner 6LXB's?

Not a good day for Yorkshire Tiger on the break downs as Optare Solo 381 broke down in Holmfirth and missed a journey while the mechanic got it going again, also Mcv Evolution 652 broke down on the 262 and was towed back to the depot.
