It's taken them a while, but Stagecoach Manchester have finally embraced the world of Twitter. They can be found @stagecoachgm and will cover both the Manchester and Wigan areas.

I wonder how many bus operators are on Twitter? I only know of a few on Facebook, such as JPT and Metrobus.
When Stagecoach Manchester receive their 29 Euro-6 E400s later this year, these will seem a retrograde step after all their E400Hs recently!

I think in terms of companies operating in Greater Manchester, there's Arriva, Cumfybus, First (Manchester & WY), High Peak, Network Warrington, Rosso, Stagecoach and Transdev plus TfGM and Metrolink.

No, No, Metroline, these new E400's will be a massive improvement on the silly half milk float/half car engine powered E400H monstrosity's that's been inflicted upon us as of late. Remember, Proper Diesel engine=proper sound=proper bus.

Details of the 38 service are mentioned in the Forthcoming Changes to the Bus Network document for next week's TfGM Committee meeting. Buses will run every 12 mins Monday-Saturday daytime, every 20 mins Sunday daytime and Monday-Saturday evenings until 2130 and every 30 mins Sunday evenings from 1830 and Monday-Saturday evenings from 2130. Also, Stagecoach will introduce an hourly service on Friday/Saturday evenings and Sundays on the X34 with most journeys running Leigh-Manchester with some journeys running to/from Lowton. Both changes will take place on 18 May 2014. www.transportforgreatermanchestercommittee.gov.uk/tfgmc/download/downloads/id/4824/item_06_forthcoming_changes_to_the_bus_network

Stagecoach finally promoting their new 38 service, which starts on Sunday, on Twitter and their website. Confirmation that the service will be using branded buses with free Wi-Fi, along with a promotional offer of a £10 weekly Megarider ticket when bought on the 38 route. First Manchester have responded by offering a similar £10 weekly ticket along the route. www.stagecoachbus.com/New%20Service%2038.aspx

Now that the CMA have cleared the JPT takeover, I wonder whether any new cross-city services will be introduced. For example, could Chorlton area routes 85 and 86 be extended to Middleton and NMGH to replace routes 112 and 118?

new bus 10401/2 noted on delivery from weekly news i get 17493 in stagecoach corporate livery This is good that deliveries have now started. I reckon on waiting until February to ride one, with a Metrolink tram to the refurbished Victoria Station stop. I had planned to ride an E40D-MMC next Saturday with Metrolink to the Airport, but then advanced my Airport ride to 3 weeks ago. Just as well really! Also on Monday 8th December I rode MagicBus Trident 17619 on route 197!
