Buses for sale, We’ve had a few enquiries recently about selling some of our buses, presumably into preservation? This has caused me to take a think at what we intend to operate in the future. As some of you are aware, we moved our service work predominately onto single deck vehicles, with the double deck buses now being used for schools. As a result of the addition to the fleet of these new single deck buses, we now find that we simply have too many buses, so the time has come to let some go. I do find this hard, given that despite being old, they do what we need them to do and are more reliable than most second hand vehicles on the market. However, buses don't do well standing and I doubt we'll ever reach a PVR of 40! This is why we have been lending buses to other operators. Although the DDA for deckers comes into force in Jan 2017, our school contracts are closed to the general public, therefore our deckers can still be used, so this isn't why we are looking to have a clear out. So if you are genuinely interested, please get in touch. Please remember that these are old school buses. I will gladly tell you exactly what is wrong with them, and all their foibles, but don't expect a lifetime guarantee. You should also consider where you are going to store the bus. Sorry, we can't offer credit or storage facilities. As you might expect, I have been offered money by the scrap man, but I would rather see them go to a better home than get cut up. That said, nothing is destined to go immediately, so don't be thinking that things are about to disappear.

With it only been a local service carrying few passengers per journey is the reason as to why Squarepeg use its double decks instead of Single deck buses on the 88 Bramley - Rodley - Farsley - Owlcotes route? Just seem overkill on capacity to me.

Just seem overkill on capacity to me. I'd imagine it would interwork with one of their school workings they have in that area.

Whats the reasoning behind the latest changes been made to Metro Tendered Bramley local services 80 & 88 next month! Had a little thought to myself that with the 88 been withdrawn, is the 80 getting extended to cover parts of the route Bramley-Rodley-Farsley which is not covered by the First Leeds service 16 on a Monday to Saturday daytime?
Cancellations of Existing Services PB1139118/5 SQUAREPEG BUSES LTD, UNIT 123, WHITEHALL INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, WHITEHALL ROAD, LEEDS, LS12 5JB Operating between Pudsey Owlcotes Centre and Bramley Shopping Centre given service number 88 effective from 20 February 2017.
Applications to Vary Existing Service PB1139118/2 SQUAREPEG BUSES LTD, UNIT 123, WHITEHALL INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, WHITEHALL ROAD, LEEDS, LS12 5JB Operating between Old Farnely Whincover Drive and Bramley Ganners Hill given service number 80 effective from 20 February 2017. To amend Route and Timetable.

The 88 is cancelled in number only, the route remains but will be combined with the 80, so an 80 will run right through to Owlcotes. This was done to make the 80 times more achievable by using the spare time in the 88, so sorry for the confusion, but no loss of service.

Great news and thankyou for the update, Very much appreciated as I've used the 88 service a few times now due to the 16 been very unreliable at times.

Something I've thought of for a while for the 22 if there's enough slack in it - routing it down foundry lane and following the 11 route towards seacroft providing a much better link to Crossgates than the 11.
Just a thought, as I can't see there being too many picked up between old York Road and Kwik Fit?

I am thankful that I rode a SquarePeg bus, namely a Spectra on route 22, incidentally this Saturday last year. I picked up a Leeds bus map in Halifax yesterday and noticed that SquarePeg now run on Mon-Fri only.
