Didn't notice, sorry about that. Good luck to the owner anyway.

A very good first effort at promoting your new route with attractive offers plus detailed information and including maps of the route. Other operators can learn from this website. I wish you every success and hope to see other new links in the future.

thanks guys, yes buses from the Wetherby school runs will be used for now. First day 28th July, ordered some pens & keyrings etc to give away, hope you can make it? T638 EUB went into our livery today, looks really good, vinyls on Monday.

I hope it's a success. All too often new companies start a service identical to an existing one, and , while i'm not saying that the established companies don't need that sort of kick up the backside, it's nice to see a service started that actually provides links that don't currently exist.
I wish you all the best, Sqrpeg.

Hello Sqrpeg, hope you don't mind but I put your leaflet to the consumer test yesterday using a couple of friends who live en route. Both have said the leaflet was good, however a bit more route detail could be needed as both questioned where exactly it ran in their area. One friend automatically assumed that it followed the number 9 route along Pontefract Road (instead of Holmsley Lane) until I corrected him and the second friend wasn't sure where it ran in Colton until they looked up the route on line. Hope the route is a success, also I've noticed it provides a link from Colton Village to Seacroft/Cross Gates, this is something to highlight and maybe work on with extra journeys at peak time between these 2 points because ever since the number 9 was routed away from Colton itself I bet this link has been missed.

Hi yes, all points noted. The initial service is very much a work in progress, hopefully demand will be such that it will be expanded, but I didn't want to be another operator running empty buses - so went for a modest service to start.
The first leaflet is aimed just at the launch, already we have noticed things that aren't quite right, not clear etc. So when we republish, it will be with the points raised plus any others we find.
Thanks for your comments, please keep them coming, I'm quite thick skinned.
What we intend to do prior to launch is leaflet the majority of houses on route, i.e. you get a leaflet because you are on route, I forget to mention that the launch leaflets are slightly different in their wording from the version we placed on the website.
Finally, T638 EUB, looks like a different bus today, no more Arriva blue.

Had a fantastic go on the 22 today! Quiet popular! Ran on time, and the driver and host we're great talking to passengers, and been super friendly! Giving out free leaflets and pens! Pretty sure it'll be a sucessful hit! My only suggestion is service Thorpe Park perhaps?

My only suggestion is service Thorpe Park perhaps? If it were a peak time service, then yes I agree. Be a pointless 5minute detour as it stands.

Yes, very good first day, glad you had a positive experience. Thanks for the free pens! As I got off in Garforth and oldish bloke said to me.'ooo new company, what's that bus then' so I gave him the leaflet! And he said he'll use it

Just to update, service going very well despite severe traffic disruption around Garforth this week and Swillington last week. Numbers are building nicely and we have some 'regulars' already after only one week.

thanks guys, we'll give the route a few weeks to settle down then take another look. Currently we run a diversion round Garforth, we might change the route permanently to include this but it depends on numbers etc. Most likely change will be to the vehicles used, the Spectras were deployed because we had them, if the route usage stays this good, we'll buy something better suited. Time will tell.

Hello Sqrpeg, I have a niche idea for a bus service, took a walk up Potternewton Lane today and never realised how long and full of houses this road is, their's also a hill on it. Now Stainbeck Lane which runs parralell to Potternewton Lane to a point does have a bus service, and is probably the nearest road for access to buses for many residents living towards the middle of Potternewton Lane but the 91 does not serve Leeds. Now I know some residents living on the middle section of Potternewton Lane will be able to access services on Scott Hall Road, Chapeltown Road and Harrogate Road but it is a bit of a long treck if your carrying shopping or something heavy, your tired after work, or you just can't be bothered with walking.
The upper part of Harehills Lane between Roundhay Road and Harrogate Road is another one of those roads with no direct service to Leeds and plenty of houses a good distance from Chapeltown Road, Harrogate Road and Roundhay Road.
My suggestion is a service from Leeds every 20 mins during the day from 7am to 7pm running non stop to Harehills Lane at it's junction with Roundhay Road, then via Harehills Lane, Potternewton Lane, Scott Hall Road, Stainbeck Lane back to Harrogate Road and Harehills Lane then reverse of route to Leeds.

Hello Sqrpeg, a friend of mine living in Colton has posted on facebook how it's taken her an hour to travel from Cross Gates to Colton by bus, I'm assuming she's been waiting for a number 9 as the post appeared around 5pm. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I've noticed the loadings between Rothwell and Woodlesford have been low if you don't mind me saying, I'm unsure what the loadings are like beyond Woodlesford. Anyway just a suggestion but going by a previous post, I'm assuming the Garforth section has been doing well so if this is the case, maybe concentrate on the Garforth to Seacroft section, increase the frequency to half hourly and if possible have peak journeys. Bearing in mind how bad the number 9 can be, I'm sure many Colton residents will board your bus if you can offer them a service for the frequency and hours they'll need it for.
