notice in tates depot today reads ""tates travel ltd are pleased to confirm the purchace of globe holidays ltd and rosa holdings ltd all current staff will remain with the company and 4 brand new coaches have been purchaced to modernise the fleet"" so the rumours have turned out to be true understand they have also bought the yard and travel shop in Barnsley.

Malli, noticed on the South Yorkshire forum you believe Tates have won a tender in South Leeds, do you know which one it is? Their's hardly any tenders down South Leeds, they form part of commercial routes or are evening and Sunday routes, bearing in mind Tates run to Morley during the day, I'm guessing it's a new service linking areas on the tendered parts of the 85/7 (Morley, East Ardsley and Middleton) on a circular route. The current 85/7 routes are unreliable so I'm guessing the recent review means these services will run to Middleton and the White Rose only to aid timekeeping.

Similar to the 31/2 that serves Horsforth and HoltPark. A shopper hopper. Sent from my GT-N7100 using proboards

Been on a couple of their WF StreetLites recently on the 213. One was 1604, but the ticket issued said it was 1045 (an Optare Solo) and 1602, which had a ticket for 1373 (Dennis Dart)! Are Tate's not bothered about ticket information (even for their own use) and doesn't Metro require details, for example the number of ENCTS passenger carried to claim their return?

The ticketing data required will be by route and journey, so vehicle number is irrespective.

Something some of you may be interested in, apprently when enviro 1091 is down to run the 213 the drivers try and switch to another enviro. They tend to sneak the solos, steretlites & dart pointers owt if they can. To yet see 1397, an alx200 or king long on 213 though. Plus two sgict drivers are now at tates running said 213 as well as the dewsbury f.t.b with the four drivers who transfered orignally from star travel. Be interesting to know how these six cope with st john fisher's school sports day, getting to & from princess mary athletics track. 1397 is long gone from Tates. Think any E200 is hated on the 213 (apart from 1621/1622), as all the rest of them are extremely slow on hills.

As no doubt some people are already aware, from end of January, Tates are retreating from almost all their work in Rotherham & Sheffield boroughs, with only the Doncaster 203 seeming to be the only route remaining that will be running outside of Barnsley into other areas of South Yorkshire.
This may have a knock on effect with the West Yorkshire work, so maybe they may be retreating from WY as well.
Think it's now a race to see who ceases operations (or are forced to cease) first out of Tates & SGI.

I know the Tates King Longs look nice and tidy but everything else I saw in Wakefield today appears to be in need of some TLC especially the skirt panels

Besides the King Long buses, all the Tates buses seen in Wakefield today looked like sheds, bent skirt panels, panels in different colours, one Enviro 200 has an unpainted front corner panel, not a good advert for the company.

A MCV Evolution in the form of Blue and White liveried AE09 DJV.
Judging by the seating or lack of it in the lower/front section looks to be an ex-Air port example
