Does anyone know which 51** Olympians were allocated to Yorkshire Rider Wakefield depot when they were new?

It was a bit confusing at first, due to 5152 and 5154 featuring in the launch of Todmorden's batch. From what I recall, one of them went back to Kirkstall that afternoon, and one was used for a couple of days, then the Tod ones started to appear. The allocation to Kinsley was 5151 to 5155, Todmorden had 5156 to 5165, Huddersfield had 5166 to 5170, and Bradford had 5171 to 5175. The Kinsley allocated 3500 careful owners bus ran in Calderdale for the day when YR was launched, think it was 5155, but happy to be proved wrong(25 years is a long time) Of course all except 5151 to 5155 ended up in Calderdale.

I vaguely remember Huddersfield's F-XYG Oly's, They were regulars on the Marsden and Golcar routes. Not long after these entered service, Huddersfield received some more Oly's these being registered G-OWR etc. Cant quite remember how many G reg ones there were, but i think a substantially higher number than the previous F reg ones. IIRC the G reg's were Alexander bodied (Low-height)as opposed to the F reg ones which carried NC Palatine bodies. None of them lasted long in service in Huddersfield, The Palatines moved to Calderdale and the Alexanders moved to Bradford, probably after less than three years service in Hudds. I could be wrong here, but im almost certain 5166-70 moved to Halifax in exchange for 5 Plaxton Derwent bodied Volvo B10M's G---JYG ??.

Thanks for that Kendall, I wrongly assumed, apparently, that when Andrew shut the site down, then that was it altogether.

I think Huddersfield lost it's G/OWR olympians when the B10B/Alexander Striders arrived? 1001-1020 were all at Huddersfield for the first few years.

You're probably right, westyorkshirebus. Huddersfield Striders 1001-1020 were IIRC K101-20 HUM so that would date them at @1992, Which ties in with what i remember about the disappearance of the Olympians after a mere 2 or 3 years service in Huddersfield.

I seem to remember all Huddersfield and Bradford's XYGs went to Halifax when the OWRs came, all Huddersfield OWRs went to Bradford when the Striders came, and all Striders went to Halifax when the Lance's came.

I seem to remember all Huddersfield and Bradford's XYGs went to Halifax when the OWRs came, all Huddersfield OWRs went to Bradford when the Striders came, and all Striders went to Halifax when the Lance's came. The Huddersfield XYGs 5166-70 were indeed transferred to Halifax district in late summer 1990 when the OWRs came. Huddersfield's OWRs (5210-22) were, however, swapped with Bradford for a similar number of older Atlanteans (mainly JUM-V registered if I remember aright) during the spring/summer of 1993.
