Heard it on the Radio this morning, unfortunate news and hoping that the driver makes a full recovery.
Plus does anyone know why the 126/7 does not run during boxing day, i'm certain between Ossett and Wakefield it would justify enough passengers and it is a branded routes with an every 10 minute frequency ordinarily.

Because Metro only fund services to/from Leeds & Huddersfield (and from this year Keighley), with the other Arriva services (268 etc) supposed to be through buses to Leeds.
One oddity this year was how the 760 ran but Keighley's most frequent route, the 662 didn't. Presumably as it is neither a Keighley local service nor a bus to Leeds, and the 760 provides the same route between Keighley & Saltaire anyway.

With their been no service on the trains they should run a normal saturday or sunday service on Boxing Day, the amount of passengers they are getting on the Dewsbury Road corridor is silly & does not deserve to be funded.

Ah, but when you take in to account how much the drivers are being paid doesn't leave a decent profit margin though hence its funded.

and note that I don't see First or Arriva introducing any other services commercially on Boxing Day outside of the Metro scheme.
All revenue goes to Metro to offset costs anyway I believe so this isn't a case of First coining it in on Dewsbury Road

Not much I would guess, as most passengers will probably have a day ticket bought on another service, and are only using these services to get to the White Rose.

Why don't you get TLC to run Dewsbury Road commercially next year Matty, and then you can see how much money is / is not being made.

The accident that effected the Boxing Day 363 was featured on BBC1's Helicopter Heroes this morning.
It's available on the BBC iPlayer.

Latest meeting of West Yorkshire Combined Authority reveals plans for Boxing Day buses in 2015. The proposals would be to run buses in the Bradford area, due to the opening of the Westfield shopping centre later this year, which plans to trade on Boxing Day. There could also be an proposal to run more services in the Calderdale area (currently the 503 and 508 operate on Boxing Day). www.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=4294968968

Unfortunately there's no clues as to which services might actually run (though I'm sure we can all think of some suitable ones).

30 buses running Bradford services on Boxing day out of Bramley depot, couldn't get the engineering staff to work in Bradford. 17 running out of Halifax, don't know exact figure for Leeds and Huddersfield.

Of note is that 36, 662, 760 & 843 are commercially operating, this means that Metro 's Boxing Day fares £3.50 day tickets & £2/£1 single are not valid and normal fare structure applies.

Bit of a gaff with Wakefield Bus Station, since it is closed for 110 and most of the other Wakefield services except 185 Wakefield Castleford Pontefract which is shown to be using it
