Sorry, Arriva Wakefield. For some reason i cant seem to find that link either now. I know ive seen it, so it's probably been removed. However there's a good (If brief) article on Tom Harrison's North West Bus Blog. (Ive just read it before posting this).

www.cbnw.blogspot.co.uk Classic Bus Blog page has a statement on the situation, it's appears they've had cash flow problems which relate to monies owed to them and losses in the bus refurbishment side of the business, also pay roll obligations. Of note though is the Red Rocket, they say they were going to suspend this anyway after Xmas, explains the comment about services re-starting at Easter but if things don't pull round I can't see it re-starting.

The proposed suspension of the Red Rocket suggests it wasn't performing as well as expected, I don't recall the service been promoted as seasonal?
The part of the statement relating to financing implies part of the problem was the pulling of financial backing (underwriting VOSA financial requirements) which I assume they could not get from elsewhere.

I now have a good feeling how badly ran things were, if the Focus Transport piece below is correct, we've found the Lancashire version of those companies from Kirklees who had a reputation for going out of business and coming back under another name. The report is located under a few interesting pieces about Skipton/Grassington markets and the use of ex Wakefield Arriva 641 by Arriva North East. www.focustransport2011.blogspot.co.uk

According to the Blackpool Gazette, Archway Travel are to take on the abandoned 80 service from Preston to Blackpool commercially for 3 months (presumably to test the water). It'll run until 8.30pm Monday to Friday, 5pm on Saturdays and won't run Sundays.

According to Stuart Valentines blog, East of the M60, the boss of the former Classic Bus North West has had a chat to himself over at Oakwood Travel (he's a director there) and has transferred 16 jobs, vehicle refurbishment services and operational licences over to Oakwood Travel as part of an administration deal, the 80 won't be making a come back though and it remains to be seen if the X70 will return.

Meanwhile, as correctly reported Archway Travel have taken over the 80 from Monday 13th Jan and have purchased two ex-Go North East MPD's to operate this service. These being X502/3 WRG both liveried in all-over yellow.

My final post under CBNW, ( I have created a new thread for Oakwood Travel Services). Got to say some of the comments have been somewhat wide of the mark on the subject, and a hell of a lot of what a disgruntled 5 or 6 drivers said in the media has been taken as the full story. The one thing that has come out of it, is that we have managed to keep the 22 going, and passenger figures and income are not too far off what they were before the problems, and the private hires are quite buoyant. It was a very difficult time between the 20th of December and the 6th of January, with several laid off staff zooming on to the social media without a great deal of thought about what they were doing and how it would affect the likelihood of some of them being reemployed, some of their actions could be deemed as darned right criminal, but that has now passed. Other than that I am not going to say anything else on the subject. The following vehicles have left the fleet:- RM1568, B10M 899 and 324, the latter going to Red Bus Days of Keighley. It is possible that there are a few more to go, but things tend to change by the week. So as far as I am concerned its over to Oakwood on this forum, and we will try and keep it interesting.
