I agree with cp2012, it will not last due to the fact they are competing with one of the main operators when they have already as we have all seen had a very troubled history. They are also going across a route that is already well served... Yorkshire line Mark 2?

In their previous operations (Assuming connected to Easirider etc) all of their routes have gone to well served areas so this is no different, likewise them competiting against First doesn't mean it wont last, K-Line have done it for years on some of their routes.
I think the key issue in the past wasn't so much who they were competiting against and where but the fact their licenses were getting revoked hence them reappearing after a while under a different name with a new license.

They increase frequency and altered timtable to better supported parts of the routes. They now have two Darts in daily operation.

Streamline have another Plaxton/Dart T438 EBD?. Despite all our misgivings and negativity towards them at the start of their operations, They've definitely held their own, A Yorkshire Line they are not. The Darts they operate on the 370's are always clean and more importantly punctual. They seem to be held in some esteem by their regular customers too, as most journeys they operate have healthy enough loadings.

Yes it is T438 EBD, they've had it since about June/July time and it was bought from Ripleys, Barnsley who got it from Go North East although it was new to National Car Parks, Birmingham. Think its a 36 seater and my understanding is that it's a spare bus if V166/167 aren't available.
Agree about the loadings, each time I've been in Huddersfield the service does seem well used and as a result maybe T438 will see more regular use.

These guys are a right cowboy operator. I caught the 371 the other day to work, I work at HRI, and the driver just went straight up New Hey Road instead of going along Acre Street towards the Infirmary. I said to the driver 'you've gone the wrong way', he glanced at his destination board and said 'it says New College' and I replied 'yeah via Huddersfield Royal Infirmary', which is what the destination board said. He then replied 'life's too short', what a plank, they just seem to be making their own routes and driving wherever they see fit when they see fit!!!

This is to be officially confirmed so it is not official. A good source at Dales and Bowland Community Interest Company has told me the Eastern Dalesman bus will return this summer following requests from users of last years service. He can't give full details yet, but It is to operate on Saturdays and will run twice each Saturday from Huddersfield via Dewsbury, Batley, Bradford, Guiseley and Otley to the Washburn Valley up at Swinsty returning via the A59 and A65 to Ilkley, then Otley and the reverse of route back to Huddersfield. He can't tell me who will run the service but he has confirmed it is not First or Tiger. Could this bus be for this contract?

They're apparently supposed to be notoriously sluggish the ex Lothian Darts, how it'll cope with Cowrakes or Moor Hill Road I don't know! If it does end up being for this Eastern Dalesman Bus then will it only stay till the end of the contract then go back? Or will they keep it do we think?

I now can reveal more details for the Eastern Dalesman. Basi Travel don't have the contract, nor do Streamline. That's because it's April 1st! Sorry if I got anybody's hopes up but as boeing737229adv has rightly said, Lothian Darts are sluggish just like a lot of similar Darts so having one of them going up the Washburn Valley, never mind Hollins Hill, would be awful!

Pity about that I would have been more than happy to forgo my "OAP Glee Club Travel Card" and pay for a round trip through stunning countryside, and yes that does include parts of West Yorkshire. However details of the Dalesbus summer routes are now shown on www.dalesbus.org

I think Bassi got rid of their ex Lothian Dart pretty quickly so it'll be interesting to see how long Streamline keep this one

Has anyone else noticed that there always seems to be 1 Streamline Bus that doesn't have a ticket machine installed? 3 Dart MPDs in front-line service, but they only seem to have the 2 ticket machines!

If one bus does not have a ticket machine how do they produce the figures to claim the money from Metro for accepting passes of one type or another.i

I think there's a PLASTIC BAG sellotaped to the driver's side of the coin tray, it looks REALLY unprofessional! I'm sure that V166 or 167 still have their old, no-longer-needed machine that they could take out & put it in the third bus (currently W477 UAG)
