I saw an Arriva 59 plate single decker pulling into Dewsbury yesterday morning with an orange rear advert for Coventry University's Scarborough campus.
Is this bus on hire as I can't imagine that Coventry University would pay for a bus based in Dewsbury to advertise it's Scarborough campus!

AY Darwen 1802 is currently receiving what appears to be a full all over advertisement for NatWest Bank.

Some first Leeds buses have advertising the new Bradford Broadway on rears. 37649 is one of them.

FL 32449 now carries an allover ad (front normal livery) for House of Fraser, mainly pink & white.

FL 36271 has lost the Strongbow Cloudy Cider wrap and now has one for House of Fraser. This ad is the same as that carried by 32449 but these two are totally different to the House of Fraser wraps carried by 36211 & 37721.

I think it's 1063 as I've seen that before Yes 1063 transferred to Dewsbury middle of October, it even looked odd while it was at Selby when the closest to Scarborough it would work was into York 1063 is an 09 plate, the only 59 plates are the 4 singles that used be to route branded for the 126/7

I think we're all used to buses advertising their competition such as motor dealers or garages......but a car park.......while still advertising that your own bus ticket to the same place costs more......on the same bus.......please!!!! www.flickr.com/photos/35759580@N03/26227902894/in/dateposted-public/I know they've been around for a few weeks now but I've been rendered speechless until now.

The company pays their money. They're targeting car users stuck behind the bus who are unlikely to be tempted from their vehicles. Not the passengers themselves.

It is a bit of a dodgy one this, particularly considering how heavy First Bradford promoted their tickets as a way to visit The Broadway, particularly when the car park was priced expensively at the start. Ironically under the advert on the back window is probably a now obscured advert for catching the bus to the Broadway.
They should probably have turned this one down. It's like having a Tesco free bus with a Sainsburys advert across the back.

This is completely wrong. Any reasoning behind the advert, such as appealing to non-bus using drivers stuck behind the bus, should be outweighed by the fact that the bus product is being diminished in the process. It's hard to make comparisons, but as buses in this context are essentially billboards, it's like Clear Channel displaying roadside adverts extolling the virtues of JCDecaux's low, low rates. Would this happen?
There's a balance between making some cash from advertising and considering your product/brand and how impacted it could be if stupid decisions are allowed to be made. In my opinion First have not considered this balance, their advertising contracts should be drawn up with a list of exclusions - is this so difficult?

Let's put it this way, I don't care how cheap buses are I will still use my car. Buses aren't fantastic value for money especially if there is more than one of you travelling. Choice will come down to convenience and cost. The adverts will bring in revenue so why not and that revenue could pay for advertising your service to the same area.

I don't do facelook, twaddle, or any other social media,(not suited to me, cos i'm not that social really), so unlike kendall, i can only "like" your post, by saying i like your post, which i do.

37670 has finally lost the James Bond Spectre all over side advert which it's had since the film was out last October. Think this is a new record which until now was held by the Quantum of Solice advert of 2008, that was carried by 30848 from Oct to the following March.
