Derbyshire produce very comprehensive timetable books, the only downside being that they cost £1.50 each.
This is probably a resonable price, but no doubt due to the current council cuts, the latest North Derbyshire book has now come out priced at £2.50
I can only see this price being too much and the books being discontinued soon. Paying £7.50 for bus timetables for a set of 3 covering the entire county, once every 6 to 9 months is a tad steep!

Derbsyhire already tried to withdraw the books last year but were persuaded to keep publishing them at the last minute. This is either a valiant last-ditch attempt to get the revenue to closer match the costs of publication, or a devious ploy to drive down demand to enable them to withdraw the books for good, all depends on how cynical you want to be

It wouldn't be so bad if the operators did their own timetables. Trent Barton obviously do as do Arriva & Stagecoach in Chesterfield, but Notts & Derby & Bowers Coaches both relied on the Derbyshire publications.
Nottinghamshire County Council have stopped all paper publicity as well, so there are no maps or timetables anymore.

Bowers have, and still do, produce their own printed publicity as required, it does need to be more structured going forwards but publicity has been done for Bowers when requested.

A nice book like Centrebus do in Grantham might be nice. ;D It was (though in a different style as it was done by a previous supplier), we are currently reviewing what form future publicity will take as the depot forgot to tell the people who manage the publicity that they had run out until after we had produced our leaflets for the ex-TrentBarton routes. It will probably be another booklet but which services are included remain to be finalised.

I know that times are tight but one thing that was usefull and could do with comming back is the great british bus timetable which covered ALL inter urban services in the UK that was very good. It was easy to use a lot of the electronic services are not and are very difficult. When I did the research for the OAP by bus from sheffield to London it took me overall about 16 hours - longer than the journey - using electronic means if the GBBTT was around it would have taken me less than 3 - simply a case of looking on map then looking up the tt. Using the electronic system is difficult and some of it is WRONG full stop.
