Arriva Cymru has a small batch of ALX200's based at Llandudno also "P" reg and there are no plans for the withdrawal of these yet. Sadly according to the latest issue of Buses mag 3 out of 4 of the Llandudno ALX200's have gone for scrap. Heres a picture of some of them taken a few years ago at LJ: www.flickr.com/photos/clifton009/6824540785/Yeah, They've done that, Just to prove me wrong. Wonder what, (If anything) Will replace these.

Arriva Dewsbury had at least 4 ALX200 Alexander Darts still in service today
186, 190, 197 and 199. Ironically all 4 Step Ikarus's 11, 13, 54 and 56 plus the 2 Polaris 57 and 58 were also out. Not that many ALX300 seen just 441, 466, 467, 470 and 471. Of those 470 was a replacement for 441

Still a number of ALX200's still in service.
I counted the following today, Dewsbury 189, 197 and 198 all in Wakefield with Step Ikarus's 13 and 56
Castleford based 182 and 185 were also operatring on 188 (I think) plus ALX300's 486 and 489 still in service

Well that's it, All gone!. Last of an era. When the new Pulsar's arrive it looks like the end of another era. Ie, the first new Arriva buses to go, the ALX300's. Is it just me, or does time really seem to be flying by?. Maybe it's an "age" thing.

I rode a Dart-ALX200 on route 231 or 232 in August 2010. It may have been refurbished using traditional Arriva moquette as the seating looked quite elegant. It is a pity they are being withdrawn, and I prefer them to the Ikarus buses. Maybe I shall get a late opportunity to ride an ALX200 on route 128 next week, although an ALX300 (or Eclipse if transferred to Dewsbury) would be ok too.

Vehicles don't last as long as they used to, they are treat no differently to anything else in our throw away society. Even if they are still capable of doing the job changes in legislation mean the end of things prematurely these days.

The ALX200's have been withdrawn from Yesterday. Do you know that for a fact as the info regarding the special running day yesterday was that they were 'due to be withdrawn next week'

Although the main P-reg batch are being withdrawn, the newer W-reg ones are still around. Indeed, I rode refurbished 165 on route 188 today, and saw 167 too.
Thankfully, my 128 was an ALX300 (468), the Ikaruses confined to route 278. There were some ALX300s on route 278 too though.

If you read the latest issue of Routeone magazine, there seems to be an AY ALX200 Dart for sale at stafford bus centre. But if you check on the website, it isn't there, so it must have been sold.

Shame this is not preserved at Dewsbury bus museum. Would be relevant to have a Dewsbury bus based at Dewsbury museum. Shame it's to do with lack of funds. If I had the finance I would preserve a bus.

If I had the finance I would preserve a bus. There is an ex-YWD Regent V under restoration in the Museum. Plus an ex Yorkshire Bristol VR which owned by by a couple of members, although this one is not kept in the Museum.
