Last night AY 471 was fully on a lowloader trailer, leaning a lot to the right, so I reckon the suspension must have gone ! 471 is now back in service and was on the 126/7 today.

Stagecoach Barnsley MAN Alexander Alx300 22124 [S124 TRJ] broke down in hemsworth because of an air leak this also meant when the driver tried to open the doors to get of the bus they wouldn't open so she had to call out of the window to get a Tesco worker to push doors open

66760's suspension went bang in Hebden Bridge, we set off thinking it was a blown tyre but then looked in reflections and realised it was the suspension so we pulled up near Mytholm turning circle and caught the next bus.

Wow! So many breakdowns & faults! Perhaps companies' could look after them a little better. Some drivers need to relax a bit when driving, then faults wouldn't occur so much. Mainly First & Arriva have this issue. Transdev don't have so many breakdowns as those buses are pampered!! But you can be guarenteed that 5-10 buses are being taken back to their garage due to faults.

I take it you know what goes on inside a maintenance department at one/all of the companies you have listed above then?

Not a breakdown, but I saw First ALX400 30937 X358VWT leaving Leeds this morning with what appeared to be a wing mirror in the place of the rear-view mirror inside! Nice idea for a quick fix to keep a bus on the road!

Are the regular rear-view mirrors convex mirrors? Cos I guess that would be the only real difference

Suspension gone on another eclipse in Burnley on the 592, driver brought it back as far as Tod bus station, said he drove at 20mph all the way due to it bouncing too much and after seeing it travel (sorry, bounce, bounce, bounce) just a few yards I'm supprised the driver wasn't ill!

Probably a day! It is a bit ridiculous in a way as you always see a bus being towed somewhere on a day to day basis. Maybe mechanics lost the instruction manuals to the buses!!! :-D Also, a lot of Leeds' hybrids breaking down prompting usage of diesels from Bramley & Bradford.

Wonder if Arriva are wondering if they should have opted for E400H's for the 163 after all?

Wonder if Arriva are wondering if they should have opted for E400H's for the 163 after all? Why? Remember Arriva are one of the longest users of B5LHs (as they has the first built - in London), so by now they should know what to do with them. I believe the problems with the Leeds buses, and indeed the E400Hs with Stagecoach Sheffield, are more to do with manufacturer upgrades than operator problems.
