Most of HPs royales been out in force today on the 33/33A with a few RHs.Also photoed K2YCL & WLT528 on 757 along with 32440 on the 71,31773 on FTR4,32459 on 3A,32436 on X11,S58VNM on 760 & 37662 on 40A! Also saw a lot of arriva buses heading down headrow towards bus station instead of usual route past the corn exchange.Any reason for this? Yer excessive traffic along Boar Lane right through to the bus station because of all those christmas car shoppers who think the market car park is mecca! The same happens year after year but the council don't think to make the roads within Leeds bus only and force car drivers to take the inner ring road towards Woodhouse Moor where Hyde Park could be flattened and the whole area on both sides of Hyde Park could made into one giant car park served by park and ride. But let's not dwell on this depressing subject, back to unusual sightings One side will do. Hyde Park park is nice & is a brilliant park. The only nice once close to The City centere. But i agree that the other side the muddy side should be converted into a park & ride site. Services could sustain if all were converted into double decker operations and a slight increase on some.

Also yesterday morning I was surprised by Transdev York 274 passing through Greengates heading towards Shipley. Destination read not in service, presume on this road it was maybe headed for Keighley. Loan, transfer or repaint to new Trandev York colours? Anyone know anything? This came for repairs at Keighley apparently, then did a trial on some local routes but got stuck - for example on 727 at the junction of Swine Lane & Bradford Road!

Unusual sighting. B9TL branded for the 6, from drove from Woodside tavern down the ring road to spen lane with "sorry not in service on". When he got into the slip road, the display was changed to the 97 outbound. I looked at the timetable and no journeys start at Spenlane etc. Bit of a mystery why that happened. Anyone know why?

Probably just catching up with the timetable. They really should get permission to do this but its normally fine if a bus has just gone through infront of them. I see it often with the 56 in Crossgates. If two or three are together, the one running the latest turns round the roundabout and heads back to Moor Grange.

Won't the drivers have to get permission from the controllers before going out of service? From what I've seen at Keighley when this happens the inspector always seem to inform the driver when to run empty and to where.

Aye they should get permission, but i've seen occasions where it hasn't been asked for and the driver just took it on his own to turn around. I know this doesn't occur as much now as the bus tracking software has added a more of a 'big brother' approach from the Controllers and management. I know of drivers that were running 2mins early to their changeover and were told to wait at the stop before until the timetabled time!

The turning around at certain points on route, does this also happen with inter working? When one bus comes in very late to go onto a service does it just miss it and continue back ONTIME back inbound or outbound. The only example i can think of is 33A or X84 with the 965.

I doubt they could. It'd mean some heaftier fines for non-running of services.

Few cases ive seen are with arriva where 202/3 has been late arriving in leeds & has only gone as far as dewsbury & continuing back to leeds to keep to its schedule.

I know of drivers that were running 2mins early to their changeover and were told to wait at the stop before until the timetabled time! Wish Transdev controllers would do the same! Regarding missing out services to recover schedule, I saw 3 Transdev Keighley services cancelled the other day for this reason, 2 of them were consequetive services on the same route
