I think First will up their investment in South Yorks soon, they're going to have to, I know investment has been scaled down of late but it will need to be upped. Transferring some 09 plates from Leeds to Sheffield is a very cheap way of doing that though!

Halifax & Huddersfield need to upgrade their fleet, Huddersfield needs to relaunch the Holmfirth Connection with B9TL's.

Alot is being let go of of late and I get the impression they hold bigger interests where the profit lies and can see First handing over the region to another operator.

It might look like that but First might want be seen be investing in Hybrid buses but I'm not sure that they would want to use those in Sheffield.

Matty, it is easy enough saying 'launch it with B9TL's' but its not that simple is it? Why would First invest money into a service to where the B9TL's would work and loose money? It's possible that they could see for example's B7TL ALX400 or Gemini's but i would not say they would jump in a either move B9TL's in or buy some as they would make a lose throughout.....

South Yorkshire seems to be the only large operation First have where the fleet seems to be modernised with cascades. From what I have read, South Yorkshire doesn't make the 15% profit margin where it is feasible to invest money in new vehicles.

Halifax & Huddersfield need to upgrade their fleet, Huddersfield needs to relaunch the Holmfirth Connection with B9TL's. The Holmfirth Connection, a mainly rural service is not the sort of service to be relaunched with brand new buses. Besides the oldest Dart SLFs which are gradually decreasing due to cascades and service cuts, the Halifax and Huddersfield fleet is perfectly fine for what it is.

Well they launched it with Royale's years ago & it is getting allsorts on it nowadays, so why not upgrade the route. Even if Leeds sent some 04 or 06 Plate B7's over, it would be an improvement than the ALX400's & VO's

So, what you're suggesting is that, Leeds lose out on some low floor buses just to relaunch a local route? Thus meaning Leeds lose out on low floor buses on major cross city trunk routes?

The end of the day Leeds have there own steppers to replace yet so Halifax and Hudds are long way off from seeing anything soon.

Well Leeds will have too many buses when the Hybrids arrive so they will have to get rid of some

Plus allot of the Alx400's will replace the Royales current day to day frontline service work in Leeds.

Don't think it's been reported yet that Volvo artic 10041 was despatched for a new life in Bristol on Fri 5th. Unfortunately it got as far as the M6 and failed.
I believe 10043 is being sent as a replacement.

What about the ones at Huddersfield, will they be staying? Perhaps they could use them on the Holmfirth Connect!

What about the ones at Huddersfield, will they be staying? No idea Matty, if i took a blind guess they will just move the whole lot down, as they seem to get on arctics better than anywhere else.

Why don't they give them a major refurbishment like Transdev do with their Wright buses which are around the same age.

Why don't they give them a major refurbishment like Transdev do with their Wright buses which are around the same age. Because it isn't economically viable to do so. They spend more time over the pits than they do in service.

I thought the B10BLA was basically just a bendy version of the B10BLE ?
