I believe Godson's are expecting delivery of 2 King Long Coaches in the not too distant. Long ones or Short ones? Supplied by a local dealership? I imagine 2 full size ones, not got much more info in all honesty.

You have: 8m & 9m (XMQ6800/6900) 12M (XMQ6127) 12.2M (XMQ6129) 13M (XMQ6130 - Triaxle)
Between that lot, you have some "day tourer" coaches, of similar style to the Irizar i4.
By full size, I meant a standard 49 seater, which would be the XMQ6127

Supplied incorrect information. New vehicle is a Yutong. One of the first in the UK?
51 seater, with toilet. Looks smart, currently in plain white but expect some burgundy fleet names soon.

Chinese = wont last long. Cant understand operators who waste money on "budget" products like these, unless bought for pure novelty value. The depreciation on chinese built vehicles is nearly as fast as the chassis rot that takes hold shortly after it's first run on a wet British road. Wouldn't it make far more economic sense to buy a good quality used European built coach than throw away money on chinese rubbish? Just for the sake of owning a new vehicle. I know a lot of people at Pelican, through my work and whilst their facilities, workshops and technicians are first class, they are synonimous with selling bargain-basement products like BMC, Seddon-Atkinson, Hino etc. I doubt very much Pelican will be flogging Yuton's very long, But good luck to Godson's, at least they've been brave enough to try one.

Yutong TC-12, the first one in the UK was delivered to Cropley Coaches, Fosdyke (Lincs) in late May/early June. For reference, Yutong are the largest bus manufacturer in the world (in terms of vehicles built) and built over 56,000 vehicles in 2013 (about 10% of which are for export). The quality of Chinese built vehicles is reportedly improving all the time (the early King Longs had some issue but they were quickly rectified and they are getting repeat business & second hand examples don't seem to stay for sale that long so clearly there is demand) and they utilise a lot of the standard European produced components, particularly in the mechanicals, which helps boost confidence in the product & residuals only matter if you intend to sell the vehicles early, most of the buyers of these sorts of vehicles are small/medium sized independents who have mixed age fleets with extensive school work for them to cascade their older coaches onto so they retain them for what is effectively a full life so the heavy, early depreciation is less of an issue (and, of course, if they are a success that depreciation will get better as operators have more trust in the product and demand increases).

It's like BMC, the early ones (Falcons) were badly built but the Condors are far more superior
