Expect large problems in Bradford on the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend due to this march. Could well be counter demos staged by anti-facist groups in protest at this. Best avoid Bradford on that day

More than likely there'll be counter demostrations too that day. Hopefully, Metro and the bus companies will keep the delays down to a minimum with the diversions. Remember the one in Manchester last year, it was a nightmare.

Hopefully police will keep these idiots under control. Water cannons like they have in Northern Ireland. Keep these two groups away from each other.
Usually First & metro are very very good at keeping disruption to a minimum when there is a march or any other event going down in Leeds. Lets hope they can with Bradford, mind its a bit of a building site at the minute, SO they have a real challenge.

West Yorkshire Police Chief Constable Sir Norman Bettison has applied to get a ban on the march in Bradford. If it does go ahead, then it will be a chaotic weekend for travel in Bradford with the SkyRide event taking place in the city the following day. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bradford-west-yorkshire-11005665

Details up on the Metro website. Market Street will be closed between approx 12.30pm and 3.30pm with Hall Ings and Broadway services also affected. As a result, services 15, 72, 607, 610, 612, 613, 614, 622, 623, 626, 636, 637, 640, 641, 645, 649, 656, 660, 670, 675, 677, 680, 747, X6 and X11 will be diverted. No mention of the FreeCityBus but I would assume that it will either be suspended during the demo or diverted via Shipley Airedale Road to Forster Square. *Services 15, 72, 607, 711, X6 and X11 will not use Hall Ings. Services run via Bridge Street and Shipley Airedale Road in both directions. Nearest stop is Bradford Interchange, except 607 which will use stops S8 and S14. *Service 607 will pick up from stop S8 instead of Broadway *Services 610, 612, 613, 614, 636, 637, 640, 641, 645, 656, 660, 670, 675, 677, 747 and 846 arriving from north or east of Bradford will run via Shipley Airedale Road and Croft Street stop at stop N1 on Nelson Street *Services 636/637 will pick up from stop T6 instead of Broadway *Services 640/641 to Five Lane Ends will run from Hall Ings via Bridge Street (turning right rather than left) and Shipley Airedale Road. *Services 622, 623, 624, 626, 649 and 680 from Manningham Road will run via Drewton Road, Westgate, Godwin Street to Sunbridge Road (says will stop at stop S8 but I think it's S6) *Services 622, 623, 626, 649 and 680 to Manningham Road will run via Barry Street, Westgate and Drewton Street Services 253, 256, 268, 283, 363, 425, 427, 570, 571, 576, 606, 617, 618, 619, 620, 621, 624 (to Mannigham Road), 630, 662, 681, 696, 697, 737, 845 and 947 are unaffected and will run normal routes, although may experience delays. www.wymetro.com/travelnews/busalerts/100825-demonstration

FreeCityBus diversion now up:
The bus will not be using stop M3A on Market Street or P2 on Forster Square. The diversion from the Interchange is via Bridge Street, Shipley Airedale Road, Canal Road, Holdsworth Street, St Blaise Way to Forster Square. The service will use its normal route back to the Interchange

Note all trains in and out of Bradford are designated 'Dry Trains' with no booze permitted. This applies to Northern and apparently East Coast and Grand Central too.
