Hi,
Just a few points and questions about bus workings in Huddersfield. Most are about Stagecoach.
Does any one know what has happened to the Optare Solos that Stagecoach operated? Ive only recently noticed that they have gone.
There have also been a number of Olympians in operation. All Leyland Olympian 14524 is the only one I have managed to identify but I think there may be more plus I have noticed an Alexander RL bodied Volvo Olympian in use. Does any one know whats the deal with these? Seems odd for Stagecoach Huddersfield to gain more double deckers when most of the current allocation spend the day at the depot only seeing use on school workings and on the 80 series of routes.
The K-Line operated Huddersfield Free Town bus (HFTB) is currently being worked by normal HFTB Solo YJ56WFH but with MX55 BYK as its partner, This is a standard Metro liveried Solo.
Plus Solo MX03YCZ is in K-Lines Blue and White livery along with Solo MX56NLP but this carries it in the style of the Metro livery. Are these last 2 Solos new to the fleet?, their livery looks very fresh.
I know this is a lot of info and questions but a lot has happened in Huddersfield lately. Any help will be great fully received.

Stagecoach Solos have now been moved to South Yorkshire as the routes that they were used for, they lost at the end of the July. The Deckers are used for college contracts which will probably require deckers.
Teamdeck's YJ56WFK is the other FTB Solo. MX55BYK been used on the 900 service between Huddersfield and Hebden Bridge. MX56NLP was acquired for the 900 but was displaced when larger Wright Cadet vehicles were used on the service to overcome the amount of passengers. Don't know about MX03YCZ.
Hope that should answer your enquiries.

Thanks jackh, That has answered them all. As I say the Free Town Bus service is being worked by YJ56WFH and MX55BYK at the moment. I havent seen YJ56WFK since the beginning off the week. Here is a pic of MX55BYK which I took on the 26/09/07 at Huddersfield bus station, I have just uploaded it onto my site. davidsnonrailwaypics.fotopic.net/p45479650.htmlThanks, David.c

does the '333' mean't to represent 'Free'?
K line could do better if they thought about switching to LED Displays...(for all their vehicles)

The stagecoach yorkshire changes took place a few weeks ago in which Huddersfield lost the 5 P - RYO olympians which are now at rawmarsh and gained the 6 K - YCL leyland olympians from rawmarsh along with a G reg leyland olympian from doncaster, and also lost R252/3 LGH which are now at barnsley (253 is currently on loan in sheffield) HTH Ta, Sam

Just a quick post to say that both of the Huddersfield Free Town Bus Solos are back in service. They have also gained the names Pinky and Perky. YJ56WFH has become Pinky with YJ56WFK as Perky. They carry the names above the front wheel arch on the door side only.

PS, Thanks for all the info regarding the Stagecoach buses.
