I would have thought it would have been valid on all of the route because if it isn't it would not draw a lot of custom. The ticket has not been launched yet but me and my mate E-Mailed Centrebus to ask them and they said it is more than likely we will be bringing out a Day Ticket but the exact price is unknown yet. I think it will be about £3 to £3.50 because of the distance covered and Huddersfield Bus single prices are reasonably cheap now.

I would too. But the good think with First running it is that we can use a First Day Ticket to go to Manchester as well as Rochdale. We could get on the 184 then onto the 24 at Shudehill because they have good buses on that route.

Don't Centrebus already have a day ticket valid on all Centrebus buses in and around Huddersfield i.e. both K-Line and HBC?

When they operated the summer service to Glossop, Metro Day Rovers were valid throughout.....

Wasn't that because Metro funded the service all the way to Glossop, sort of replicating the Dales Bus arrangements this summer where Metro passes were accepted on through services from West Yorkshire?

We could get on the 184 then onto the 24 at Shudehill because they have good buses on that route. 24 goes from Piccadilly Gardens, as does the 184. Would be quicker to go to Oldham and get the 409 to Rochdale. It would make sense to have a day ticket than could be used on both Huddersfield Bus and K-Line services. Could be possible that one will be introduced when the changes take place later in the month. Have noticed that the next bus stand display at Huddersfield bus station lists all Huddersfield Bus and K-Line services as Centrebus and on the GMPTE service changes page, the 528 is listed as being run by Centrebus. £3-£3.50 wouldn't be too bad for a day ticket, particularly if you're only travelling between Rochdale and Halifax, cheaper than First bus. If they had a more frequent, more direct bus service between Halifax and Huddersfield, it might even more appealable. 343 would take about an hour, after the change, while 536/537 will take about 55 minutes. Can't see them going head-to-head with First on the 503 just yet though. Maybe one day, as First and Centrebus run a few duplicate routes in Leicester.

Thanks for the comprehensive list, SF07 - I am particularly interested in the NEW 96/7 Wakefield - Barnsley cross-boundary routes introduced by Tates Travel - I was correct with that one!

To clear up the 536-539 situation. First runs 537, 538, 539 Monday-Saturday daytime, Hudds Bus runs 536, 537 evenings and Sundays. *357 (K-Line) - Times changed with service extended to Mount via Moor Hill Road, Laund Road and Lindley Moor Road. New Hey Road no longer served. Thank you SF07 for the facts, perhaps now future discussions can be meaningful, and no,longer based on speculative rumour. With regards the 536 - 539 situation, First are retaining the commercial jopurneys and HBC are doing the tendered work. Except that First are reverting their 539 to Halifax - Stainland only, which is a pity because the daytime through running to Huddersfield was appreciated and used. The Mount to Huddersfield portion of ex 539 is now being only partially covered by K-Line extending their 357 from Crossland Road top to run up Laund Road and Lindley Moor Road to Mount, and returning by the same route, however it does not go into Huddersfield by the same route as the 539 does now, thus no longer giving a service through Marsh for the residents of Laund Road and Mount area. A minus point in my opinion!

357 isn't as ideal compared to the 539 as it runs via Quarmby and Paddock instead of Marsh, although, it is good news for people in Quarmby and Paddock as it gives them a link to the Sainsburys at Salendine Nook (even if there are another two Sainsburys in Huddersfield).
Good to see First putting some use to the spare buses by increasing the frequencies on the 503 or the 579. Interesting to see if they do that on other routes from Halifax. 576 would be a good shout. A few people would probably like the 502 and 562 back during the day Monday-Saturday. 508 could get increased to 20 mins again, combine it with the 72 at Stanningley to create a 10 minute frequency and combine them with the 40/40A at Bramley for a 5 minute frequency.
Get the feeling that the later 343's of the day are run by Huddersfield Bus, so that they can then run as 536/537 in the evenings. Can't imagine the people of Rishworth being happy with losing a direct evening bus service to Halifax and having to go via Barkisland (557) or changing at Ripponden (528 depending on the timing).
Looks like the 66B will run along the 66 route to Leeds then upto St James's then 49/50/50A route to Harehills and 13 route to Brackenwood. Going off route the description, the 129 follows the 126/127 route to Town Street, then the old 116 route to its terminus in Chickenley. Obviously the 163/166 increase to 12 minutes on weekdays didn't work, as it only came in last summer.
Good to see an independant operator stepping in and replacing one of the big operators' route (Tates 96 & 97). Interesting to see what times they run. Would be good if they complemented the 443/444 services. And I'm guessing TLC re-routed the 653 into Bradford, to better serve the shops in the city rather than serving Forster Square train station and retail park.

There are quite major service reductions in Arriva land that have gone unnoticed so far. Reducing the 163 etc, 135/136, 184group, 281-283 in Dewsbury.
I imagine Huddersfield Bus are running evening 343's so K-Line can still shut up shop at the usual time

343 doesn't run evening. 501 runs in its place between Elland and Huddersfield.
Arriva reductions: 184 in Wakefield reduced to hourly, combined 30 minutes with 185. 189 reduced to half-hourly between Leeds and Wakefield, combined 15 minutes with 410 between Leeds and Castleford. 184/185/189 still running every 10 minutes between Wakefield and Castleford.
135/136 running combined 20 minutes instead of 15 minutes. 281/283 running combined 15 minutes between Batley and Thornhill with 281/282 still running combined 15 minutes between Fieldhead and Batley. Thornhill loses Monday-Saturday daytime link to Dewsbury Hospital.
163/166 reduced to combined 15 minutes. Barnsley link withdrawn on service 443/444 with services running combined half-hourly between Hall Green and Wakefield.

Barnsley link withdrawn on service 443/444 with services running combined half-hourly between Hall Green and Wakefield. The 184/5/9 timetable for Mon-Friday will be reflecting the existing Saturday one. Castleford Wakefield remains with a combined 10min frequency while the reductions can be summarised Castleford-Pontefract reduced to 30min frequency so too is the 189 section between Castleford and Leeds The 163/6 again back to the Saturday mid-day timetable although the peaks to and from Leeds still retains a 12 minutes frequency. The 281/2/3, the Thornhill section is now down from a 10 minute to a 15 minute frequency, not sure that will be sustainable, time will tell. The 410 is still running direct to Pontefract via A639, not being diverted into Castleford yet!

The evening and sunday service between Sowerby Bridge and Ripponden direct seems to be greatly reduced, down from 2.5 buses per hour to 1 evenings or 1.5 on Sundays. But the route via Mill Bank increases to hourly
The 531 also currently has peak hour improvements including a journey that runs to Sowerby (no doubt for Ryburn Valley High School). None of this follows through onto the Centrebus timetable, it is instead a fixed hourly service all day

The 577 is basically replacing the 574 via Saville Park with the 574 running via the old 573 route meaning it is only really the link to Booth/Midgley which is effected by the reduction to an hourly frequency. The frequency on Free School Lane isn't an equal split though.
Also note that the 577 won't be calling in at King Cross, but Sowerby have many alternative services with the 579 and 300

I wonder though how long it will be before HJC follow suit and extend their 357 to Mount therefore providing a half hourly service. They did the same to match K-Line’s original extension to Crosland Road
While on the subject of K-Line, the 343 timetable looks like it will be interworking with service 368 in Huddersfield meaning it will be Solo operated and also the extra 900/901 journeys are between the peaks so may possibly be using one of the DAF/Northern Counties unless there is some complex interworking here as well
The 343 doesn’t run evenings or Sundays and the timetable doesn’t refer to any Huddersfield Bus operated journeys so that may be an error

Looking at the 557 timetable - I am amazed at the lateness of the last journey - I wonder how many people will board the bus in Norland at 0010? Very useful for the revellers to go downhill to arrive at West Vale at 0017!

I've just seen the new 574 timetable and the 0017 time mentioned above is beaten by the new late journey from Midgley which arrives in Sowerby Bridge at 0021!
