J&B Travel/Hunters Coaches in Leeds currently own five MCW Metrobus MkII's, but not for long. The buses, A202OKJ, A203OKJ, A204OKJ, A207OKJ & A210OKJ will soon be taken out of service unless they are bought. It will be a dignified exit, with a colourful history in Kent and Leeds. With 56000 miles on the clock, and 23 years of service, the buses lives are coming to a hault. I personally will miss the Metro's, since I know the company well. Photos of the buses can be found at my website, leedsbusphotos.fotopic.net/c1086961.html .

Turns out that the Metros are now being sold to a TV and Film company. The seats will be taken out, and dining tables put in for crew use. Photos of other buses already working for the company can be found on my website. leedsbusphotos.fotopic.net/c1178554.htmlThe Metros are being sold for around £2000, in surprisingly good condition after 23 years. J&B Hunters let them go on SAT 21st JULY, and I will be taking some last photos. I will keep updating on their progress in the film buisiness.

MORE NEWS J&B Travel are soon to aquire 3 Leyland Olympian Northern Counties, ( I think) and Hunters are to aquire 3 East Lancs Scanias, at the moment the exact type is unknown to me. The buses are currently being converted from double door to single, and painted into school bus yellow. They will be coming to Leeds near the end of August. I will be on hand to get photos on arrival! Only 3 of the Metros will be going to the TV and film company, with 2 staying as spares. DWW928Y will be staying in service with the fleet. Current photos of the fleet are at leedsbusphotos.fotopic.net/c1178554.html

Due to delays, the Metros are still in service. Hunters have now aquired 3 East Lancs Scanias (more info in 'fleet changes' section), but are not running them yet. All Metro's are still being used as normal, and probably will be for around a month. A210OKJ has had new wheel trims put on, and so I think it may be in for a perlonged stay.
Anyone wanting photos had better be quick though, because the Metros stay may not be too secure! Simply send me a 'pm' via the option on the left if you want to know more.
