Thought id start a new thread for you to report your sightings of broken down buses.
31142 was broken down on Eastgate last night whilst on the 42. And i was on 30810 on the 46 this morning and it "lost power" going up to Chapel Town, although once we were asked to leave the bus it seemed to get going as it wasn't long till it was outside Chapel Allerton hospital.

I was on a broken down Cherry Row ALX400 on the 51A yesterday (didn't get fleet number) struggling to get up Churwell Hill due to overheating.

Some of the ALX400s are scandalous these days.Seem to get alot worse. I remeber being on a bus and Andy (the driver) rang in and asked for water for it, by the time we'd got to Whinmoor it needed more.

The articulated buses seem to break down easily. B10LA Wright fusion 10018 broke down, in front of morrisons in town, the engine stalled and wasn't moving. Even the FTR's these days , i've seen 19022 brokedown on beckett street,19018 broke down near bus station and 19026 broke down on Tong Road.

The ALX400's don't give us that many problems in Doncaster apart from winter when they are bloody freezing. Its mainly the new B9's what give us problems, 37229/31 are at Crossroads dealership with engine trouble and when it rains they allways have problems with Ad-Blu error causing them to drive no faster than 20mph

It looked as though there was a Dennis dart broke down in Huddersfield B/S today, as there was a mechanic in the cab.

There was a Daf spectra on the 220 service this morning and could only go as far as White Rose because the Indicators didn't work.

Sent a email to First about the incident and have received a reply from them today saying they're investigating the matter (you'll understand if you saw my original post)

the driver should have checked the indicators in the depot before leaveing Perhaps he/she did, but the indicators subsequently failed after taking the vehicle into service. Can we please stop posting things alleging the malpractice of drivers in their own workplace.

Optare Solo broke down in the car park at Menston station on Monday.
Must have been at least 2 hours before it got towed away but even that was good as the truck was blocking the entrance for at leats 20 minutes as people couldn't get in to park or get out to leave!

Yesturday, 11:40 at Huddersfield Bustation for the 181 to Cowlersley, M401VWW (60939) Failed to move out of the parking area and the driver gave up at 11:44 Then 60930 (R337HYG took over and left bustation at 11:47, 3 mins ahead of 183.
I think they should pack the lances in and the darts and get the new b7rle urbans like first bradfors and leeds do with the emergency exit door near the middle.

I was on 60776 on the 1905 journey of the 507 which only runs about 4-5 times a day (morning & evening) from market street and when we got on it, he was revving the engine and it wouldn't get into gear but we finally got it moving off but slowly and when we got near the bus station he said he can only take us here so then he dropped us off at the bottom of the bus station and then he had to get us a new bus which was an olympian 31740 just for the three of us that was on the bus. There is a video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-kz4yb-_sU

huddersfield bus wright endurance was taken off service while running the 84 service from denby dale to huddersfield due to a non-functioning ticket machine and we had to get 1 of the flytes back.

That's funny has with other Operators they give a piece of paper with where you going and where you have come from and how much or Day passes. (Also this is reffered to has an Emerency Ticket) all you have to do is tell the people with the Day passes to keep it has it is still vaild for the day just like a normal ticket.

But with the other large operators in West Yorkshire, they usually have a fitter waiting en route and swap machines around.
