I wouldn't imagine that they have much longer, but the 46 is one of those routes that seems to get certain drivers who don't seem to quite grasp the idea of speedy but safe driving... are you sure it wasn't the driver at fault?!

It sounded like the engine was struggling but i did notice the driver playing with the gearbox selector (R N D 1 2 3) sort of thing so possibly was. They're poor buses anyhow and cant wait for them to go.

Most roads on the 46 route have a speed limit of 20 to 30 miles an hour so a dart is perfect for this route. It doesn't matter how safe you speed, your not going to stop a child getting killed at 34 miles an hour, you may save their life at 24 miles an hour however. I know how alert you have to be when in charge of an energetic 7 year old, and speeding motorists REALLY don't help things!

Dart is ideal for speed but not capacity, imagine what it was like on the peak Gildersome-morely-leeds? Im glad he wasn't speeding but the bus' speed of the mark was poorer than normal.

the darts in leeds for some reason are limited to a realy low speed, other darts such as the ALX200's at arriva selby seem to be able to get speeds of up to 70mph!

Some of the Arriva Dewsbury Darts struggle in Batley Carr as they seem to really rev up the hill on the 281. Some have stalled halfway up and some burn the tyres!

Are they low floor darts you have at leeds? All we have left at Doncaster are SPD'S and they are about finished loads of problems. All should be going later this year

Is it me, or are the K reg darts more powerful than all other darts? They certianly have some pace in them compared to say an M reg one.

Can someone please tell me when these will finally be scrapped? was on 40622 on the 46 this morning and ive never been on such a sluggish and slow bus. Looks like your wish will finally happen! I've been told that all Leeds Darts will be off by the end of this week. To partly replace them at least six Volvo B6 have been transferred to Leeds from York today. Don't blame me though if they're not all off by the weekend, it's just what I was told in the depot today.

The dart is better performance wise than the B6. For those who thought the dart was a snail your in for one hell of a shock, just watch the funeral procession pass you by!

the darts are not a slow bus, the leeds ones we have have a strange gearbox configeration which only allows them to do just over 30mph. there are darts in other fleets that will beat a lot of boy racers out there

Arriva's Alx 200 Darts have some speed in them, compare that to an Alexander Dash/Plaxton Pointer of First Leeds.
When First leeds darts were new in 1995/96 were they built to go slow, or was the gearbox placed on them later on to restrict their overall performance.
