I think First Bradford have done one of their 370xx B7TL eclipse Gemini's into the save the children livery, I actually mistook it for 32450 but I saw the orange LED screen display, plus it was operating on the 15 yesterday. Yes that's right, the bus is 37051. Also, there was a J-YRM on the 46 Shadwell today so I assume it's on loan to HP.

The letter I referred to is the one I sent. It seems the suggestions I've made have since occurred, well at least one of them. Suggested that the 28 should be double deck due to overcrowding on Headingley corridor (all passengers get on first bus to come along regardless of capacity, leaving some... mainly students behind at the stop wishing to go to Clarence Dock) + competition issues with the Geldards 28B.
Meanwhile had a ride on one of the branded Blue & Red Line 2, 3.... Overground Deckers (37125) today on the 731 to Otley! Extremely Rare!!!

Personally i think they would of listened to you on the Double Decker argument but not the Competition with the 28. This is because the 28B is a stand in service between the times of the 28/92. So for example if a bus comes along and it is the 28, but you miss it you only have to wait 10 minutes to get the 28B instead of the 28. So there is no competition on the route because Geldard’s have cooperated instead of competing with first.
And about capacity. The 28 hardly gets used between Headingley-Adel and Leeds-Clarence dock, so i think that this week first have taken the opportunity to do a little bit of work on the Scanias that get allocated to the route while the ALX400 take over. I am 80% sure this will return to Single Decker operation next week.
By the way 2 Volvo B7RLE on the 1 Route. Hopefully that is a sign that 10032 has gone in for maintenance.

Leyland Olympian Alexander RH 31152 L28GAN on the 576 yesterday teatime first sighting I have had of one of these on this route. 34611 on the 615. It appears that Bradford are starting to use low floor Volvo double deckers on the A99 University service as well as 37045 reported on Monday 16th Feb tonight and last I have seen ALX 400s working on this route of place of Olympians

Agreed to some extent however Leeds-Headingley section is very overcrowded on some duties - (observe boarding passengers at Leeds Uni - they catch first bus that comes along but not many use the 28B however as most have First Green Zone Term Tickets). About a week ago we left 4 people behind who wanted to go to Clarence Dock and the Single Decker was full to bursting point. I would say that competition with First is an issue on the corridor perhaps not with the 28 itself but with the other routes with fares on Geldards capped at £1.00 it works out a lot cheaper than First in some cases and I myself have been 'hastled' by Geldards drivers who pull up at every stop and try to persuade First customers to jump on - First Season tickets qualify for a 50p discount! "We are the cheapest bus in Leeds". Plus I understand Geldards are filling a gap which is useful but traffic congestion along this corridor can be severe and delays mean they can sometimes run quite close together.

Geldards getting their drivers to advertise directly to potential passengers waiting at stops seems a very sensible thing to do, and what's wrong with advertising to people cheaper fares to get to the same destination? The little "Max. fare £1" on an A4 sized piece of paper in the windscreen won't do much but a driver explaining the fares are lower will succeed the main objective of increasing ridership and extracting custom from First. If they are offering half price travel for holders of First season tickets then even better, and again they are right to be shouting that from the rooftops. Black Prince did the same thing with a special 50p (later 60p) fare for First ticket holders including FirstDay tickets.

Everyday this week a Bendi has been to VOLVO CrossRoads in Birstall maybe they are going in for maintenance? Seen 1 every day passing by the Birstall Retail Park. Also today an X6 branded Gemini was towed into VOLVO ,long way on a trailer from Bradford.

Im rather confused with the 50 situation, Bramley have just recieved some more ALX400s from Cherry Row and still struggle to put low floor buses on the 50.

Bramley probably just put anything on it now a days. Since the 50/50A doesn't link up with the 40 at seacroft and doesn't need a low floor fleet to operate on guided busway sections of York Road. Bramley probably dont have to worry about demand to supply low floors even though the route should be . Today I saw 36922 operating on the 50A, i've also seen lots of Royales as well in the past 3 days.

ALX 400 30868 was on the X84, towards the bus station, 36932 was on 49. and the 37 has seemed to lose those B7RLE eclipses quite fast, was at the hairdressers today having my hair done, and in 1 and a half hours along Osmondthorpe Lane I saw 61076 and numerous other L113 wright ultralows operating, plus 61042, which is an L94 wright floline

X84 branded YJ58RSV on the X96, in its first day out. Saw one of the new X class Geminis on the X96 again this evening, on the 16:40 departure. By any chance, do some X96 runs work off or on to an X84 board?
