The new B9TLs for the X84 look as though they're starting to arrive, the first arrival is 37670 YJ58RSY. It looks as though they will be in normal First livery. So Nick, your days of misery will soon be over!

When will these be in service.
Nice to see an improvement to the route, although the Volvo Olympians will be missed.

it looks similar to examples seen in manchester on the x34 , i wish the seats weren't dark purple, the seats dont look as good as Harrogate and districts 36, but it's an improvement from N113/striders.

Does anyone know when these will enter service? Will they enter one by one replacing the Striders and Volvo Olympians or will they enter once First have got the whole batch.?

Yeah that what worries me. I think that all these buses shouldn’t have any other allocation apart from the X84 that way they don’t stray off.
And another quick question, If the X84 is getting the "leather" seat treatment, isn’t it about time first starting investing in the X6 and 508 routes (maybe cotton on the 508)?

these buses are only going to be allowed on X84 running boards, which only do X84 except for a couple of early morning boards which do a 97 and 33 to start off with

I do hope that's true, as First in Leeds are very poor at vehicle allocation, and they will be sorry if one of them ends up on a late night 2/3/12/13 turn.
Nick, if you want the 508 to be upgraded to cotton seats, what exactly are they using now?!

Don't think they'll go any other first garage, probably replace some of the scania doubles or Alexander RH'S.

Would imagine they will in turn replace the Scania Striders that are there and most of the Darts.
They will get allocated to the 85/87 aswell as the new 61/62.
X84,28,96 share the running board on Sundays (more like interwork), so am wondering will first leave the X84 was a stand alone service, and instead make the 28/96/97 interwork.

Well I don't think the X6 will be upgraded anytime soon as the B9TLs are only just approaching the 1 year mark. Although having said that the B7TL Geminis only arrived in 2006 and were replaced after 2 years. More to the point Leather Seats would be better for the X6.

Bradford are just as bad. If the X6 was leathered, they would end up anywhere and everywhere. Leather seats on a late night 617 to Holme Wood, anyone?

The Royales could move to Bramley depot to displace the Leyland Olympians.

I haven't seen a branded X6 on any route except the X6 since they were delivered. Bradford are usually very good at keeping branded buses on branded routes

dont know where this pic was taken, but this bus hasn"t arrived at hunslet park yet! Its at Cherry Row, possibly due to space available down at Hunslet and knowing them and they're struggling for buses on the likes of the 2s 3s etc they'll end up out in service.

Does anyone know if the leather seated B9TL's are in fact for use on the X84?
Reason I ask is that there is now a rumour going around that the X84 is getting leather seats but these will be the 4 B7RLE's currently on order.
Anyone know the correct story?

No, I think the leather seated B7RLE's are for the 757 and the deckers for the X84.
