Travel West Yorkshire Forum
Conditions of Carriage (Forum Rules)
Travel West Yorkshire Forum (TWY) is primarily for the discussion of public transport related matters within West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and East Yorkshire. The following rules are applicable at all times when using the forum. Your use of TWY forum constitutes your acceptance of all rules detailed here.
This forum is hosted by Proboards and therefore users should also be aware of and in agreement with Proboards Terms of Service, available at www.proboards.com/tos
No liability or responsibility is taken by the TWY forum moderators for any content on the forum. All content is the full responsibility of the content’s author only. The moderators will only respond to issues raised by registered forum members. Membership is recommended for anyone wishing to use the forum for any reason.
Membership
Full access to the forum is only available to members with accounts which have been approved by a moderator. If you are applying for membership, you should fill out the comment field giving a brief explanation of your reason for applying. Membership requests will be reviewed by a moderator. Moderators reserve the right to check the provided IP address; this is done solely to prevent fake/spam/banned members from registering. Any membership request may be refused at the moderator’s discretion. The moderators take no responsibility for anyone who has been refused membership but still wish to use the forum.
The forum allows you to change your display name to be different from your username. If any name change is deemed inappropriate by a moderator for any reason, or if a member frequently changes their display name, this will either be addressed with the member or appropriate action may be taken by the moderator without notice.
Accounts that have remained inactive for 12 months or longer will be automatically deleted without notice. This may include deletion of all posts made whilst the account was active.
Moderators reserve the right to suspend, modify or delete user accounts at any time and without notice. In all cases the moderator’s decision will be final.
Forum Posting and Private Messaging
We aim to be a welcoming, friendly forum that all users can be a part of. Any abusive, libellous or derogatory comments made towards any individual, company or organisation, or any use of offensive language, either posted on the forum or by private message, will not be tolerated. Any such content posted may result in posts being edited or deleted, a warning being issued by the moderators and/or possible deletion of account, without notice. With this in mind, the moderators make no guarantee that forum posts are monitored and therefore the presence of content which you think breaches these terms does not mean that it has been moderator reviewed. As such, if you see any posts or receive any private messages which you feel breaches these rules, or if you have any other grievance with another forum member, please report it to a moderator by private message who will look into the issue as soon as possible. Any decision to edit or delete a post, or to address an issue with a forum member, will be made solely by the moderator. Do not make any personal, abusive or argumentative posts or private messages to another member.
In the instance where a moderator makes the decision not to take action against any reported content, the moderators will not be deemed to have endorsed or taken any responsibility for the content. You as a forum member maintain full ownership of all content you post.
There are boards for specific sections which members should choose to post in depending on the topic. As the forum is primarily used for public transport, the main boards are divided into Buses, Trains and Planes, with additional sections covering other subjects. Sometimes your post may not fit neatly into a category so please just pick the one you think best covers it.
We ask that where possible duplicate posts (i.e. covering a particular subject that is already being discussed) are not made. If in doubt a forum search facility is available. If you see that another member has made a duplicate post, you can raise this with the member in a polite and appropriate manner, or alternatively bring it to the attention of one of the moderators.
Please try and make your posts make sense - this isn’t a spelling and grammar test but we do want everyone to understand what is being said! If you wish to spell check your post first there is such a facility available to you. Also any post you make can be edited or deleted afterwards if you change your mind. We ask that members use these functions where necessary in order to help other forum members understand and reply to what you have written.
If you are making a post that is purely speculative or based only on a rumour that you have heard, this fact should be clearly highlighted with “rumour” or a similar phrase in your post. This helps all members to understand what is and isn’t confirmed information, and is especially helpful in a thread with multiple posts.
Where confirmed information is being reported, please state your information source and where possible provide a link to it. If your source is confidential you should state this fact. Copyrighted material may not be posted unless you have explicit permission from the copyright owner.
Moderators reserve the right to edit, move or delete any post for any reason without notice and their decision is final.
Help and support
For technical help, there is a help function at the top of the forum website for any general queries about how to use the forum. For any specific questions relating to TWY Forum, please email one of the moderators who will be happy to help.
All views expressed on this forum are solely those of the individual author and do not necessarily represent the views of Travel West Yorkshire Forum and its moderators, Proboards, or any other individual, company or organisation.
